Title: Will Rob buy a 131 Sport?
Post by: Rob 131 on February 15, 2013, 11:09:25 PM
SPLIT FROM ANOTHER TOPIC (mod edit)

Matt black would look better.

However back in the late 70's when I was age 5, all aerials were chrome.

I want a 131..... Badly.

Bobby

Never a truer word said. The garage is even tidy now and could fit a 131 in  ;D ;D

I would like to think so and certainly for 3MA 2014 in Normandy ;D ;D

One of the major factors was always my driveway. Living at the top end of a Cul de sac the children (incl my own ;D) like to play ball games. Not a major problem with the Alfa as it's not worth that much. However all my previous cars have been garaged and if I got some thing more expensive then it would need to be garaged and there would be no room for a 131  :'( :'(.

However a re-design of the drive, with a new one going in shortly..... means that an addtional car can be parked out of harms way ;D ;D.

You'll have to travel a bit further than Normandy for 3ma14...  ;)

Theo

I was wondering who would pick up on the 'Normandy' reference first :D :D.

I know it was suggested as a possible venue for 3MA13. I was very keen on the idea as I love France, although apart from travelling through (many times) I have only ever spent a few nights in Normandy.

There are many interesting places to visit with much reference to WW2, and together with the great coastline, wonderful food and beer, I am sure it would make a great venue.

I assume next year is a trip down to Italy for the 131's 40th ;D ;D

Including the cheap  builders market fog lights on the frontbumper Mike ;D ;)

I agree Kevin, sooooooooooooooo much nicer without a spoiler.

You're on fire Rob!  :o

Yep, next year is supposed to be Italy for the 40th Anniversary, but whether this actually happens could depend upon our Italian 131 Club contacts, although the "3MA" have discussed doing something regardless of others. ;D Watch this space.......

So, when are you going to buy a 131 then? Lots of talk, not much buying matey. ;) ;D What are you looking for and how much do you want to spend....and don't say "Not much"! ;D

There are a million reasons not to buy a 131 Sport but if I got 10 pounds for every time Rob says he want a 131 Sport he had already one and I was nearly a millionaire ;D

Just arrived back at the Hotel after work and seen the Subject Title.

Love it :D :D

This definitely opens itself up for the Technically Mined One (Theo) to create a Poll.

It must be something on the lines of (and we'll ignore any reference to availability) Will he buy a 131 Sport in the next 12 months. If no then will he buy another 131 (non Sport).

Can't wait to see the results.

It should be noted (when voting) that although I have been on the site for approaching 3 Years I only moved back to the UK last Summer, with our furniture arriving here in November. It has been a busy time to say the least.

Looking forward to the Poll.

I humbly suggest a poll looking as follows:

Will Rob131 buy a 131 Sport in the next 12 months?

Certainly. Since the world is flat and women are capable of reverse parking, anything may happen.

Possibly. It might be a Sport, it might be a Super. It might be a BMW, it might be an Audi. It might be ...(fill in any German/Italian motor)

Somehow. It will be a 1:43 scale model.

Nope. Because 3MA events will always be further away than 200 kms from Chester, which makes driving there in any 131 unbearable.

Rob, as usual: no offence meant - I know you can stand a little bantering ;)

Robert

Love the Fantasy Poll ;D. Waiting for the real one  ;).

I have 3 Models of 131's. Two of them were bought in the Dordogne in 2011 with the other one being bought in Tuscany last year, so that one is covered.

I definitely won't be buying an Audi. I test drove an A4 S-Line when I bought the Alfa last year and lets just say 'it didn't suit'.

BMW's - well I've had 7 previosuly and the latest 520D makes a great case as a business / family car.

Jason

What you say makes a lot of sense. However, I really want an Orange Sport and that means quite an investment.

Rob,

I really want a black Sport but sometimes you have to buy what's available - although I do seem to buy as much as is available as possible ;D ;D

I fell in love with my Abarth all over again today - I'll tell all in a separate thread - so you really need to buy a 131 as soon as possible. Scratch that itch!! ;D ;D

Rob, you can do the investment in pieces....................... Take the plane to Holland to have a look and we discuss the restoration of the orange car I have for sale. Show us you really want an orange Sport really badly... ;D

I know this one and i have seen it a couple of times. It's owned by a friend of mine who is also building himself a replica. Very nice and clean car. had a complete engine overhaul, i believe.

If I were you Rob I would book a flight to Holland and buy this one or buy Albert's and he can help turn it into a very nice 131 Racing for you :)

That car 12-XF-97 has been on the market for a while.

I have certainly seen it before about 18 months ago.

Albert

I assume you are talking about a completed Sport, as I haven't got the skills or time to complete one myself.

Sometimes a car can be just waiting for you to buy it :)

It has a sunroof  :-\. Could be a small problem, if you don't like it  :-\

A new roof skin from Yagmur would fix that :)
