Post by: jasonh131 on March 02, 2013, 01:13:29 PM
Thought i'd do more than kick the tyres ..
repacing leak rear wheel cylinders finaly get some strong brakes  ,union rounded off, pipe kinked and snaped, wrong union on other end cross thread in to 3 way block  ( need one of those )  by previous fitter and rounded off  ::)

Series 3 cars had different union threads.

I have a spare union block connector for you, but can't check till Monday.

Your in luck, one on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170996234321?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Looking at the pictures and the talk of you changing wheel cylinders, I assume your quite handy with the Spanners / Sockets  ;D ;D.

Different thread was introduced during june 1982 so there are a lot of MkIII fiat 131 that have the old version. Same with seat 131 braking system, they changed thread and also front brakes during MkIII production.

Is it sorted now? If not I would just make up a brake pipe with the correct union on each end.

Got the pipe made up last weekend , had to get the replacment 3 way block as it was cross thread by them put a
fine thread in a course threaded hole .....
should be al lsorted in the morning ,
