Title: Re: In Spain. Post by: parrish on April 05, 2013, 02:43:04 PM Been and seen and not buying >:(
Car as you can see is a 4 door 1977 SEAT 131. Good points: Rust free shell. Engine as sweet as a nut. Everything except speedometer works. Paint job 6 out of 10 Nice wheels. New Tyres all round. Sump Guard. Bad points: Front corner light panel damage repaired (done well however self tapping screws used in alignment still in place) Front and rear valance with slight dents (not unusual here in Spain) No trim was removed for the respray so rubbers etc over sprayed. Speedometer not working (here in lies the problem) NO ITV/MOT (Road worthiness) vendor is asking 3500Euros without an ITV/MOT and when asked he is un-willing to put an ITV/MOT on the car!! Vendor says he had the car 3 years, paper work says 13 months! Last ITV/MOT says 6553km (written over on document) previous ITV/MOT says 6548km so vendor travelled 5km in 1 year!! :o and the speedometer currently fitted shows 000038!!!!. Believe me when I say that this is a problem in Spain, paper work is scrutinised at the ITV/MOT station and any descrepency and you have to have an answer. Vendor was not willing to ITV/MOT even when i offered to pay. Shame really as all in all its a nice car. I have sent an e mail and reiterated my offer to the vendor for the car with ITV/MOT so i may end up with the car in the end. Ill keep looking Steve Some photos I took. <a href="http://s435.photobucket.com/user/parrish_028/media/P4050049_zpsdc128570.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq71/parrish_028/P4050049_zpsdc128570.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo P4050049_zpsdc128570.jpg"/> <a href="http://s435.photobucket.com/user/parrish_028/media/P4050052_zps09cbcc98.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq71/parrish_028/P4050052_zps09cbcc98.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo P4050052_zps09cbcc98.jpg"/> <a href="http://s435.photobucket.com/user/parrish_028/media/P4050063_zpsa5a079f1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq71/parrish_028/P4050063_zpsa5a079f1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo P4050063_zpsa5a079f1.jpg"/> <a href="http://s435.photobucket.com/user/parrish_028/media/P4050054_zpsf6865008.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq71/parrish_028/P4050054_zpsf6865008.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo P4050054_zpsf6865008.jpg"/> <a href="http://s435.photobucket.com/user/parrish_028/media/P4050051_zps6885e2c1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq71/parrish_028/P4050051_zps6885e2c1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo P4050051_zps6885e2c1.jpg"/> Title: Re: In Spain. Post by: simon131 on April 05, 2013, 02:50:13 PM I think you're right to walk away Steve. If a purchase doesn't 'feel' right then there's usually a reason. There's a lot to be said for following your gut instinct! 8)
There's also a lot to be said for actually seeing the car 'in the metal' - digital pics can hide all sorts of ailments ::) Title: Re: In Spain. Post by: parrish on April 05, 2013, 02:57:16 PM Love this one but again import problems from Portugal to Spain (im not a Spanish citizen)

I assume you are living in Spain? Love this one but again import problems from Portugal to Spain (im not a Spanish citizen) https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=5aeaed5b220da98e&id=5AEAED5B220DA98E%21320&Bsrc=SkyMail&Bpub=SDX.SkyDrive&authkey=!AK_FBJzIaSUb2PU Title: Re: In Spain. Post by: parrish on April 06, 2013, 07:42:01 AM Update on the 131 (Blue and white check roof).
The vendor has this morning taken the car for an ITV/MOT it now has 1yr MOT ;D Negotiations ongoing again. Ill keep you informed. Yes I am living in Spain for part of the year, remainder of time at work in Middle East! Lisbon car has only 18000Km, However the model shown was never sold in Spain so although not impossible importation might be tricky. Title: Re: In Spain. Post by: Yves on April 06, 2013, 12:31:17 PM do you have a price for the lisbon car? :P
