Title: Pilot bearing
Post by: longhamrob on August 07, 2013, 12:24:40 PM
I intend to replace this tomorrow on my 131r.  I have a new bearing purchased off ebay but am concerned it is the correct one.  Has anybody got an engine out & conveniently placed where at least the diameter & internal diameter can be measured?  Alternatively can anybody confirm the correct dimensions before I risk a massive waste of time.....

Rob, Do you mean the bearing in the end of the crankshaft for the geabox shaft to sit in ?

I have an engine out of the car but its up my old man's place so it won't be until friday hopefully that I will get up there is that any good ?  can only measure it with a tape measure as I've lost my micrometer but that should be fine.

I've got a new bearing in it's packaging I haven't installed yet. I can measure it, but it won't be until this afternoon.

Hi Mick.
I appreciate the time difference but were you able to measure as I am starting job in a few hours. Thanks.

Thank you for that. I did have the wrong bearing but was able to source locally. Much appreciated Mick.
