Title: Yagmur and 131 Abarth
Post by: mirafiori76 on September 03, 2013, 08:03:48 PM
I would like to dedicate this topic to Yagmur Bostanci. We al know Yagmur because he is the greatest supplier of parts here. I am also one of many here who bought some parts from him. I needed some 1st series parts for my 1600 CL and Yagmur was the only one who could deliver. I'am still grateful for that.

But that's not why i start this topic. Every now and then we have contact by email and sometimes he sends me a picture of an Abarth rallycar. Yagmur knows about my Gr.4 project and is, like i am myself, trying to find out the history of my particular car.

The history of the 131 group 4 cars is a bit vague. The Italians never kept records of those 48 "works" cars. Let alone, the ones that were bought and used by privateers.
I guess my car was one of the latest private used cars. Almost no rust and only damaged at the right front side. A new inner panel was welded in and that's why i have no chassis number. Makes it harder to find out about it's history.

Anyway, that's in my other topic. Here are Yagmur's own words:

In the end of 1981, Turkish rally driver who is also one of the most biggest business man in Turkey Mr Oguz Gursel bought that car from Italy from Mauro Rally Tuning (Mauro Nocentini). It was white and had Italian number plates, then German number plates and picked to Turkey by this way.Later the number plates was become Iraq/Baghdad. It was last driven by Verini, I was said. !!!!!

In every rally, hillclimb and rally cross, Mr Nocentini has came to Turkey for service.

From 1990 to 1992 ıt was parked in my garage....then the owner gave him to my friend as a gift...

He sold to a guy in Istanbul and I made the restoration( just body and paint), changed it into OLİO FİAT colours. Last year I was told that the car was sold to Europe....

Here is a picture of that car:
