Australian 131 supermirafiori with pushrod engine !   no wonder they are moaning about lack of power.

OHV engine in a Super :( nothing Super about that ! They had a S2 Super in Spain with a 1430 OHV engine in it.

131s had the 1600 pushrod, the later supermirafiori and superbrava had the 2 litre.

We are not having a dig but why didn't they get a 1600 twin cam like everybody else ?  I would feel a bit ripped off if I was Australian.

Supermirafiori were made for a twin cam engine, not a OHV :)

While all that was going on we had an NB red 1972, 125 special with a worked 1600 TC.
I think that 125 would blow my 131 into the weeds on the roadside. Rev ! & scream like a jap bike + handle like it was a go cart.
You could be excused for thinking it was a mobile toilet for the amount of otherwise brave blokes who shit themselves in there  ;D My mates used to put their bike riding mates in there so they could see what a car can do.

Factory said 10,5 0-62 mph for t/c 1600 ;)

I took my yellow 1600 ohv engined 131S to Ireland late last year for the M2M and it performed extremely well in the presence of it's more powerful twin-cam brothers and sisters  ;D In fact some of the other attendees thought that it had been refitted with a 2 litre TC it was that spritely. 8) Yes I had to hold it in the gears longer if I really wanted to keep up, but that's what driving 131s is all about IMHO and besides, often it's about the driver not just the car! :P

Lots of variables, engine config, capacity, driver....power to weight...etc....!  :)

I can attest to how well the yellow peril kept up with TCs at M2M. Especially on the drive back from Leenane to Galway when you Theo and I pulled out a gap for the first few miles. You were right on Theo's tail mate... :)

Yes, in fact I was so impressed that I have now swapped my GC 2 litre twin cam with a 1300 pushrod 😁
