Of them all I would have the 131 sport as the bmw is boring to look at and to drive and the golf is front wheel drive and never appealed to me (and yes I have driven them).
I do agree vitaloni door mirrors are bad for blind spots but they look great.

What are we even talking about? This is an article from about 35 years ago. Who cares about handling or blind spots. The Racing/Sport is just one of a kind and a direct spin-off from a 3-times world rally champion.
The car has it's unique charisma and is still a head-turner. And most of all, fun to drive in all it's rigid simplicity.

I thought I had them all at this stage!!! :)

Bottom of the pile against some quality German competition but as Mike says .....the 131 Sport was unique!

26 mpg at 70 even when new  ???
