Title: Bolts Post by: Henk on February 06, 2014, 07:26:21 AM Quick question:
Does any one know the thread size of the bolts which attach the gearbox to the engine? I need these to put the enige one a workstand. I tried M12x1.75 (standard) and M12x1.5 (Fine) but they both did not fit Is it metric, maybe M12x1.25 or something else? Henk Title: Re: Bolts Post by: sid131 on February 06, 2014, 02:26:45 PM M12 x 1.25 ;)

Title: Re: Bolts Post by: sid131 on February 06, 2014, 07:53:57 PM Henk worth investing in a intermediate M12X1.25mm tap to chase the threads ;)

Look what I found in our work shop....(under a pile of dust) It is 1.25, not a stock item here at the local bolt and nuts shop. Maybe some of you can give some advice. I bought this 1.3 enige 1 year ago on Ebay Germany (Enzo tipped me) It is supposed to be brand new and it actually looks like it have never run before. however, as it has been in a box for 30 years, I think I should take it apart, clean and oil all bearings, put new gaskets and seals in.... what do you think? should I fit it as it is or take it apart etc. henk Title: Re: Bolts Post by: sid131 on February 11, 2014, 07:54:29 PM take it apart new gaskets seals etc oil it & dont let it start until the oil light goes out ;)

Fit the engine in the car and remove the distributor, prime the oil system with an old distributor shaft on a drill (turning in the correct direction till the oil light goes out then its ready to start. Title: Re: Bolts Post by: Henk on April 06, 2014, 07:30:43 AM Took the engine apart.
Apart from cleaning and replacing all seals and gaskets, I will also give it a paintjob Title: Re: Bolts Post by: Henk on April 06, 2014, 07:32:34 AM primer
