It does seem like a low K change period though. They may be erring on the safe side as the damage is expensive to repair if the belt breaks.
My Toyota 18 rg has two chains in the front. The r is for rattle. 18 rg is a 2 litre 8 valve twin cam. O. The latter cost me 1000? including ALL parts (belt, pulleys, water pump...), and this was a bargain :o

Done a few where the plastic guide roller has disintegrated causing belt failure and all new valves fitted. Think the later belt kits had a uprated guide roller.

Aint stop using it since got the belts done .... but clearing out the ulysse 4 shoe boxes and 2 crate's of stuff from 3 glove boxes and 12 cubey hole and behind the back seats ... it doesn't all fit in the 166.. This is probably due to the comparative rarity of the 159 (they were never great sellers) and the massive strides in Alfa quality :). IMHO the build quality was superior to the contemporary 3 series. The high 159 prices in comparison to the competition particularly relates to the latter Diesel 2.0 170BHP Models ::). Enjoy the 166, it has always been high on my list of 'Cars that I should of owned :'(' together with more 131's. |
