Title: Re: FS: Limited Slip Differential for 131 Post by: 131rally on July 11, 2014, 04:39:34 AM Sid, 2 way? ??? Disc type, like ZF. Though, if people want, they can be Torsen type too. Torsen is somehow even better. It will adjust the power to the tire having more grip. Though, if the other is completelly in the air it dont have torque enough to do a thing...
If Im correct there are two different differentials in 131. Early version (Mk1-Mk2 cars?) 22 splines in halfshaft. The Mk3 had 24 splines and this wont fit them. BUT, only way to be sure is to take one half shaft from the car and calculate the splines. If there are interested enough for 24 spline version, it can most propably be done too. Title: Re: FS: Limited Slip Differential for 131 Post by: longhamrob on July 11, 2014, 08:11:06 AM I would have one straight away BUT after buying TWO wrong ones and losing loads of money i am a bit dubious. There was a thread on this subject a year or so ago.
Unfortunatly despite many members efforts it could not be confirmed exactly how many 'standard' differentials were in the 131 racing/sport but there is at least TWO. Both of my RHD 131r's were different from what is available out there and after taking the axle out and dismantling it for nothing you can understand how pleased i was. Probably best to get exact measurements of your existing diff first which will mean taking the axle out and dismantling it. Setting an axle up is a skilled job and is one of the few things that even the Haynes manual will not cover. Title: Re: FS: Limited Slip Differential for 131 Post by: 131rally on July 11, 2014, 08:28:32 AM Yep, I know there are atleast two. 22spline and 24spline. All cars Ive had were 22 spline versions. So, I will order those first. If interest is great enough, I will order the other too.
I will hunt down the Fiat instructions for adjusting the rear axle. I have 131 Abarth instructions allready. Title: Re: FS: Limited Slip Differential for 131 Post by: TOAD on July 11, 2014, 06:28:34 PM Try this,

Only any good when both wheels are on the ground. ;D 8) Title: Re: FS: Limited Slip Differential for 131 Post by: 131rally on July 11, 2014, 08:00:35 PM I have done my share of rear axles :) But if somebody wants to buy a LSD unit, then I will try to send instructions with it.
