Title: Fiat Oil Filters
Post by: kev131 on July 17, 2013, 09:21:36 PM
I had a good deal this week from my local Fiat dealer (how many of them are left in Ireland!!?). I used up a couple of oil filters (from stock) recently so I thought I'd see if I could order some more.

The part number has updated from 71736164 to 71754231 and I had 4 ordered on Monday and delivered (from the UK) for collection on Tuesday. The interior design is different and I questioned this (having brought one of the old ones with me for comparison). The parts guys were very comfortable that this was just an upgraded design and showed me their computer records from Fiat that showed the replacement of one part number for the other. A list of cars that the new one is suitable for includes the classic Croma and Fiat coupe...along with a host of Alfas. Total cost less than ?43 incl VAT delivered (for 4). Dealers are Clareview Motors on the Ennis Road - Kieran in parts if anyone is interested.

Same thing happened me a few weeks back :) Superseded is what we call it in the car trade ;)
They have the newer Fiat group logos on the filter, the old filter logo had bits of the 3 logos into one logo :) ?20 for 2 with VAT.

See where they are made now ?

EFL 90 can also be used. Has the pressure relief valve in it and is readly available. It is the same as the old Fiat filter and holds more oil for that initial start up. Only thing is it has Motorcraft Ford labeled ;D Can't remember the price yet.

Hi All.
It is strange I am just after finding the 131 filters also fit the 8 valve Tempra and the 16 valve
2 litre Tipo so I won't be running short any time soon ;).
