Title: 3MA16
Post by: kev131 on December 27, 2015, 08:45:22 PM
Dates and Hotel details are now known for the annual 131 event for which this forum was created....and it's our first event in France! The location is within a natural park which should mean some scenic drives will be possible.

Just to set expectations, please note that the event may not have the usual level of road maps, recce notes, etc and may change as we go along. Robert & Ingrid know the area well and have offered to make some suggestions so watch this space. As we've often said, it matters less what we actually do and more about the driving and social side.....Sat Navs will be very useful for all participants as will old fashioned road maps for anyone unfamiliar with the area....oh yes.... and a reasonably reliable Mirafiori!  ;D

Whilst the itinerary is still being discussed ... it's now possible to book your accomadation....and holidays from work!  :)

PLEASE BOOK YOUR ACCOMADATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS I HAVE INDICATED TO THE HOTEL THAT 10 TO 15 ROOMS ARE REQUIRED.

Region: Alsace, France
Location: La Petie Pierre
Hotel: Aux Trois Roses
19 rue Principale ? F-67290 La Petite Pierre
Tel : 03.88.89.89.00 ? Fax : 03.88.70.41.28
resa@aux-trois-roses.com
www.aux-trois-roses.com

Dates:

Check-in date :Thursday, May 19, 2016
Check-out date :Tuesday, May 24, 2016
Number of night(s) :05 night(s)

I've been dealing with someone called Laure who has good English. I didn't ask about other languages as everyone who comes to 3MAs seems to get by with English.

PLEASE MENTION 3MA16 TO GET THE SPECIAL RATES.

Rates:

-   67?/pers./night in double room in HB (Half board - 3 course dinner)
-   79?/pers./night in single room in HB (Half board - 3 course dinner)
-   Tourist Tax: 1?/pers./day

"We have garages for old cars and a garden if it?s not enough.."(which sounds promising compared with on street parking).

Ferry details for the channel crossing will become known later.

Avoiding the tolls means going round Brussels according to Google and that's about 6:00 hours from Dunkirk. Not a bad route for anyone going from the UK but we have time to refine this...

I need a mirafiori that can run!
I did not plan it now  :-\

You only have to cross one country?

Try to attend this wonderful meeting for every 131 fan. No problem if you can`t make it with a 131 (although it would be great) ;)

Emailed the hotel using the email address as given in Kevin's posting at the top of this thread (don't go via the website Jasonh131, email Laure directly) and received confirmation of my single room  :'( within 30 minutes.

So, hotel booked, sat nav with European maps obtained, paper road map of France dusted off (might be a bit out of date as it's a 2001 edition  :o), ferry to be booked and suitable 131 yet to be determined.  :-\ Looks like I'll probably be in my yellow S - but time will tell. ;D

Please note that the hotel remains closed until January 16, 2016, therefore any answers to inquiries might be delayed.

If you want to make a reservation via phone or fax: the respective numbers are

Phone : +330388898900
Fax : +330388704128
(note the "0" following the country code - it is required and must not be omitted)

The 3 Mad Amigos got together in Ireland over the weekend with the plan of planning 3ma16 amongst other things. But the Guinness was too good and too plentiful so 3ma16 planning didn't really happen. But I think we might have planned 3ma17 and most of 3ma18 and have a good plan for 3ma19  ;)  :D  ;D So any and all suggestions for 3ma16 driving routes and places to visit are greatly appreciated....  ;)

Planning for 3ma16 is progressing nicely but it's very useful to know numbers attending the 3ma events to be able to organise some activities such as coffee breaks! More importantly, we are trying to plan visits to museums and heritage sites for which we'll need to have a good idea of the number of people and the number of cars attending.

I am an old man and still live in the 20th century as far as website building goes  :-[ :-\
I've created an on-line registration form for 3ma16 but because our website hosts have stopped supporting Front Page Extensions just because Microsoft stopped supporting it in 2004  :( ;D it doesn't work. I'm working an an alternative form but it may be easier to just let us know by email. So if you are joining us in Alsace for 3ma16, please email us at 3ma16registration@131mirafiori.com (3ma16registration@131mirafiori.com?subject=3ma16 Registration) letting us know the number of people and the number of cars that will be attending and which days, if not all 4, you will be joining us for.

I second that  :D :D

Here are some of my pictures and a short story...

As I wanted to bring some colour in the game ;) I wanted to take part with my beloved green one and my friend Jop drove my orange Racing 8)

Title: Re: 3MA16
Post by: Heini131 on May 25, 2016, 06:25:59 PM
...we started at 9.00 in the morning but after driving only 35Kms my green one broke down. As the engine didn`t want to run any further I had to call the ADAC ::)

Title: Re: 3MA16
Post by: Heini131 on May 25, 2016, 06:32:31 PM
back home I changed the fuel pump but with no success >:(

So I decided to take my "Walter R?hrl" which wasn`t prepared at all...
and we ended up with two orange Racings :-*

And this was a good decision, because both cars did a great job. 2.400Kms x 2 without any further problems

The green one is working again :D

Found out that the timing belt was broken. But could not believe it because we changed it already last year :o

So we had a closer look and found a worn out pulley which destroys every new belt ???
Its made out of platic and the older ones are made of steel. I had a good used steel one on the original 1300 engine from my blue one so we changed it with a new timing belt and now everything is sorted

The next one has a lot to live up to....

I find that every year it's better than the last  ;) But I think it's because they are all very good and the last one is the one still fresh in the mind so seems the best  ;D

As for next year, we've had suggestions of not having one at all (miss a year  :-[ or give up  :-[ :'( ) or locations ranging from Ireland to Greece and almost everywhere in-between!  :o ::)

What about Grossglockner Alpenstrasse in Austtia ( https://www.grossglockner.at/gg/it/index )?
In 2017 I'd be able to be there with a proper Lampredi twin, albeit not a 131 😉❗️
