Its not a cheap one , over £1000 for the 6 nights , probably the most we,ve payed for accommodation , is is a very popular upmarket area..?
Hi Jason Good point. Killarney is the tourist capital outside of Dublin. Its location near the most scenic areas of the country means that accommodation can cost a little more. It’s half board with free parking which counts for some of the cost. It’s not that much different from Pamplona when all that is taken into account. Theo thinks the cost is comparable with Northumberland last year. Participants can check Booking.com for alternatives of course. Hope you can make it mate.

🚗✨ 3ma 26 - 20th Anniversary 3ma! 8th to 11th May 2026✨🚗
In 2006, three Fiat 131 enthusiasts dreamed up a gathering to celebrate the legendary Fiat 131 mirafiori. The first 3ma (Maximum Mirafiori Mobilisation Attempt) took place in Ireland in 2007, and it was such a success that it became an annual tradition across Europe. Details of that first meeting can be seen here.
Now, 20 years later in 2026, we’re heading back to where it all began! 🎉
📍 Location: Ireland – The Killarney Heights Hotel
📅 Dates: Extended weekend from Friday 8 May to Monday 11 May 2026
🎉 Theme: A refreshed recreation of the original 3ma. While much has changed in 20 years, we’ll do our best to capture the camaraderie, cars, and Irish countryside charm that made the first event so special.
Whether you’ve joined us before or are coming for the first time, this milestone event will be a heartfelt tribute to the Fiat 131 and the community that keeps its spirit alive.
We’ve once again secured a special arrangement with the Killarney Heights Hotel: • Double or twin room (7–12 May): €169 B&B per room per night • Single occupancy: €125 B&B per night • Family room: €169 B&B per night + €30 per child • Three-course banquet style dinner in a private room: €30 per person per night • Children’s dinner (under 15): €16.50 per child A dedicated free parking area within the hotel’s car park will be set aside exclusively for our cars. Rooms have been reserved for our group until 31 January 2026 and availability cannot be guaranteed beyond that date. To avoid disappointment and to allow us to plan effectively, we strongly urge you to book as early as possible. There’s no advance payment required at the hotel and room cancellations are free up to 10 days before arrival. So there’s no risk in securing your place now and early booking is essential for planning the event itself. Organising stops for coffee or lunch is relatively straightforward for a few people, but it becomes a logistical challenge as the number of attendees increases. Knowing how many will attend, allows us to make appropriate arrangements and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please let us know your intention to join us as soon as possible. To register your interest, please email us at 20th3ma@131mirafiori.com or complete the online form here. To book, please contact The Killarney Heights Hotel directly: 📞 +353 64 6631158 📧 email: reservations@killarneyheights.ie Be sure to mention “Fiat 131 event” to access our special rates.
If you encounter any issues, please contact Seán McDermott (Hotel’s Commercial Director) or Olga Tibor (Reservations Manager), or email us at 20th3maAccommodation@131mirafiori.com. Once you’ve booked, please let us know by emailing 20th3ma@131mirafiori.com with the number of attendees, car details, and your arrival/departure dates. Check back here for updates and event details. We look forward to welcoming you back to Ireland for this unforgettable celebration!
Let’s make the 20th 3ma an unforgettable celebration of the Fiat 131 legacy. See you in Ireland!

Hello Chris,
I cannot comment on the seal and if the 124 is suitable or not. But I would say that importing items from Australia or other places into the UK, you shouldn't have to pay import duty if the declared value is under £25.
Good luck!

Hi, Any advice on what grease to use on the gear lever mechanism as shown in the pictures. Would a general purpose grease be okay or should I be using Lithium based grease or even a silicone based grease. Also, how much should I be applying? just a thin coating or plenty? Cheers, Chris

Hi Theo, So, just an update on the above seal! I live 30 minutes away from Simply Bearings, so I drove there this morning with the seal but unfortunately, they were unable to help, apart from offering to send it to one of their manufacturers but they could give no indication of time scale or how much it would cost to have one made. I have, however, found a guy in Australia(The Fiat Factory)who is selling them but they are £19 each and that is without delivery costs and the dreaded import costs and who knows how long it would take to arrive if I placed an order with them. Anyway, I went and ordered a seal for a Fiat 124 and although it looks different and does not have the recess for the spring, it does fit and the spring sits against the seal rather than in a recess and the whole thing fits snuggly inside the propshaft, so fingers crossed it will be okay. I am wondering if this seal is a replacement/upgrade from the original? Regards, Chris
