I am going to treat myself to a sports seat. However i will obviously need a universal mounting frame which as yet i have not found. Im also concerned about the height as my head is close to the roof already. Has anyone had experience of this??

Hi, just a thought - you would also need to get seats that can tilt forward if you want to keep access to the back seats.

I had some Cobra bucket seats fitted on the original 131 frame. Still got it but for keeps at mo. Looks like a very easy mod and the only thing you need is a tilt type seat?

I installed these seats I found on Ebay.

They look a bit boy racerish but they were cheaper than having the originals recovered. I had an upholstry shop recover the backseat which cost me more than I paid for the car!

What is odd about these seats is they feel like they sit higher than the originals but when compared to the passenger seat (with both seats inside the car), they appeared to be the same height off the floor.

I made my own adapter. I just took a piece of aluminum and this bolts to the floor mounts and the seat bolts to it.

I installed some seats out of an 87 Honda CRX in my Spider. They fit perfect. I ended up ordering some seat covers rather than having they recovered.

As you can see i had gray recoro from a capri and had to make a cradle to bolt the seat to, 2 in lower made very easy as they were narrower so even with a crash helmit on for track days  my 6ft 1 head didnt touch the roof ..
