I have just been looking at the Opel forum and they have started a new section there called suppliers of parts for classic Opels.
Could we have a section here similar to what opel have done Roll Eyes.We have the showroom section, but the supply of parts section would be most helpful especially to someone who is restoring a 131.
We could start with Yagmur and add on from there.
I am only putting this idea forward to gauge the response of other forum members Roll Eyes.
I await your points of view. Eugene

Sounds like a great idea.  But i cant imagine there will be too many suppliers, but I am happy to be proved wrong on this occasion!!

Is this not the 'Down to Business' section?

Down to business could be anything, but when a non forum member(Guest) logs on for the first time looking for a supply of parts,i don't think that it is down to business he/she may go for.
Supply of parts catches the eye far more than down to business.Maybe it should read Down to business/Supply of parts.Only my opinion.Eugene

Perhaps we should change the title of the section 'Down to Business' to: 'Suppliers of 131 Parts and Services'?

Yes Eugene is right.
I always receive some mails that asking parts, some people out from forum never know "down to business" section and don't click it.
In that way other suppliers also would be here.

 Huh

"Down to Business
This is the place for the professionals to advertise their services and any parts or cars they may have for sale. "

I assumed that visitors to this forum can read!

If we have a section just for parts then we'll need another for cars and another for services. Then we'll have to split the For Sale and Wanted section into two sections, 3ma and Other Events will have to become two sections and before you know it we'll end up with 14 sections. I am not a believer in too many sections on a forum as I believe that makes it difficult to follow and find what you want.

While I am sure a lot of first time visitors to this site come here looking for parts for their 131s, this discussion prompted me to look at the statistics for the site and specifically for the search phrases used in search engines to find us. Below is our Top 20 search phrases and it would seem that "fiat 131 parts" or similar doesn't feature anywhere.? Undecided

If you do a google search for Fiat 131 parts the first reference to www.131mirafiori.com I found was on about page 4 and is as a result of Walezy's Abarth kit. Is there a way to make the site come up on the first page if someone searches for Fiat 131 parts?

Is there a way to make the site come up on the first page if someone searches for Fiat 131 parts?

Yes there is and we could do that if the primary objective of this website was to provide Fiat 131 parts. But it isn't the primary role of this website. As it says on the Homepage:

"Welcome to the website dedicated to Fiat's 131 Mirafiori and the? Maximum Mirafiori Mobilisation? ?known as the '3ma'."

This website and forum was originally set up to promote the first 3ma in Killarney but as it became quite popular and also showed there was a lot of interest in the Fiat 131 we decided to keep the website going after the 3ma was finished. In any case, the 3ma has become an annual event now so the website continues to promote the 3ma. If you search for "Fiat 131 3ma" then the website should be at the top of the first page of results. Search engines? trawl the Internet and look at websites. Each website has a list of "keywords" which search engines use to classify and list the websites. On any website click the "View" button on your browser and then select "Source"? and you'll see the website's html source code (there are no secrets on the 'net!). For our website the keywords are: "fiat, 131, mirafiori, 3ma, rally, tour, club, abarth, stradale, works, twincam, drive, fiat 131, fiat 131 mirafiori, 131 mirafiori, maximum mirafiori mobilisation, 3ma meeting". I'll add "fiat 131 parts" to the keywords and eventually search engines will increase the website's listing for parts searches but it's not really what our website is all about.

Good man Theo it is a site for discussion, debate and assistance as I feel as it is a voluntary non profit site should we add a highly commercial section to it. There are a number of threads started by newbies looking for parts or sources of parts and all of them seem to have been replied to in the spirit of the site as a discussion of various suppliers. If we are to put in this section how would this bare upon the for sale and wanted section could this fall by the waist side......
