Hi guys I have been recommended to check out your forum from FiatmotorclubGB.com.
Nice site seems clearly laid out and very friendly.  Smiley

The reason I have signed up to post despite not owning a 131 (although I do love them, it was MK2 Escorts till I saw one. lol) is that I am a salesman at the Fiat dealership in Kirkcaldy. As I'm sure you are all well aware that the new 500 is released on the 21st of this month. Due to the fact that I'm the only salesman in my branch who actually likes older Fiats as opposed to new german rep mobiles I have been given the task of trying to orginise a display for the launch celebration we are having.

Obviously the most important part of this will be an old 500 but I'm hoping to have a nice selection of some of the models that made Fiat sexy over the years the 131 being one of them.

So what I am asking is. Does anyone local to fife who has a 131 fancy coming down to our launch party and having a free valet  (naturally we want them looking their best.) and also check out the new 500?

Ummmm... that was my recommendation K666 - Welcome on board and thanks for your kind comments.

It beats me why Fiat UK or Ireland have not tapped into it's fantastic heritage to raise it's current market perception ...which in a lot of cases is somewhere between Kia and what was Rover/MG.? Huh Roll Eyes

Hopefully the new 500 and Brava models will help lift that image to where it belongs..

This is a great idea to catch people's attention especially in a crowded market place with clever advertising and gimmicks all over the place.

Good luck with your search for cars - There are a few Strada Abarths up your way - Try contacting them on the Strada130 forum (another re-direction - sorry). I'm not sure how strong the classic Fiat scene in Scotland is but good luck. Some useful links...

Kevin
Is it not a pity that some of our "local FIAT dealers" would not think like our new friend in scotland. I'm sure we could pack aforecourt with nostalgia if the occasion was right,

Thanks for the advice. I do actually have someone with a Strada Abarth recently restored who is interested in coming along, which is great and another fella with a Tipo Sedi. So it's starting to come together. Biggest stumbling block so far is getting the actual cassic 500 that we need.

I've registered to the 500 club but have been waiting on my conformation email so I can post for hours. Hopefully it will come by tomorrow night.

Kev I do actually recognise you from Fiat-Scotland. I use a different username on it from before I got my private reg.

Ros with sentiment like yours I wish I was your local dealer, would certainly make finding the cars I'm looking for much easier.  Grin
