Hi,
Trying to locate the seal that fits on the end of the gearbox output shaft on my 131 2.0L five speed gearbox. It's the seal that fits at the end of the output shaft and is held in place with a centering ring and circlip and the seal has a groove on the side facing the engine, which carries a spring. I have tried Ricambio and Middle Barton Garage but this seal is not something that they stock.
regards,
Chris

Hi Theo,
So, just an update on the above seal!
I live 30 minutes away from Simply Bearings, so I drove there this morning with the seal but unfortunately, they were unable to help, apart from offering to send it to one of their manufacturers but they could give no indication of time scale or how much it would cost to have one made.
I have, however, found a guy in Australia(The Fiat Factory)who is selling them but they are £19 each and that is without delivery costs and the dreaded import costs and who knows how long it would take to arrive if I placed an order with them.
Anyway, I went and ordered a seal for a Fiat 124 and although it looks different and does not have the recess for the spring, it does fit and the spring sits against the seal rather than in a recess and the whole thing fits snuggly inside the propshaft, so fingers crossed it will be okay.
I am wondering if this seal is a replacement/upgrade from the original?
Regards,
Chris

Hello Chris,

I cannot comment on the seal and if the 124 is suitable or not. But I would say that importing items from Australia or other places into the UK, you shouldn't have to pay import duty if the declared value is under £25.

Good luck!
