Anybody after a 12/43 axle for 131 saloon ?  its the automatic one so gearing will bottom out at 102mph on speedo if you fit it to a manual so no good for 1600 T/C  or 2000 T/C but ok for pushrod manual as 102mph limit wont be a problem, its from a mk3 131 so its the WIDER axle but not a problem as they all interfit

I will measure it for you Nick but give me a couple of days, all the mk3 131s I have had had this wider axle, I found this out years ago as I hadnt noticed before but I removed a halfshaft from a spare axle and went to change it because the one I had had a noisy bearing and it wouldnt fit ! and when I checked the noisy bearing one I had removed was shorter, also the splines on mk3 halfshaft are different (larger)

Nick, the measurement of the axles is:  mk2 131 as sport without halfshafts, backplates etc 1230mm and the mk3 131 axle 1245mm so its 15mm wider in total so 7.5mm per side which makes you wonder why they bothered re casting for 15mm !  The width of the mk3 131 axle with everything in, ie backplates, halfshafts etc is 1420mm, Now I have run both of these axles in sports but prefer the original type, also mk3 131s had wider track at the front......

Thats good news for me as the toyota axle is 1400 from disc face to disc face so plenty of room, thanks for taking the measurements for me David.
