The rubber in the top of my dipstick has gone floppy and moved.  Its position is critical to the oil level!  My 131r has a long bendy one.  Can someone with a good dipstick take a measurement between the top of the rubber and the very top of the ring pull so i can correctly put a new one on.  Thanks.

That happened to me years ago  Embarrassed I was very confused as the oil pressure light kept coming on but according to the dipstick there was plenty of oil in the engine. Then I noticed that every time I checked the oil, there was a little bit more on the dipstick  Shocked as the rubber stop kept being pushed further up the stick  Roll Eyes
From what I remember (although I must admit my memory is not good lately) the top of the rubber stop has a metal washer in it and the washer should fit between two little lumps on the dipstick so it's quite obvious where the new stop goes. Don't bother refitting the old rubber in the correct place as they are very cheap and readily available on ebay so get a new one (which of course you said you will  Wink  Cheesy)
