Due to a pending period without employment and a need to keep feeding my kids (according to the wife anyway Roll Eyes) I am considering selling my silver 131 Racing.

Imported from Italy in 2005 and having undergone a fair amount of mech work to get it UK road legal, it is starting to show signs of not liking the UK weather on the tops of the doors and leading edge of the bonnet. A good runner with new tyres (only done about 1,000 miles). Great rust free shell - never welded. Would benefit from a re-spray as previous owner was a regular user of a car wash Roll Eyes but totally useable as it is Grin

All original European Racing spec (same as UK 131 Sport). UK period registration (W-reg) December 1980. I'm the sole UK owner - owned for 3 and a half years. V5C reg doc and lots of bills available.

Will only sell if the offer is right otherwise it's worth more to me. Drop me a mail through this site if you're genuinely interested and have cash waiting. No PX or swaps. No Nigerian money scams either.

Hello,

Good luck simon with selling. I hope it will go to a 131 friend or you just don't sell,
and find a new lifetime employment.

Sorry Chris, can you send the email to simon@ryleqs.com or simon@131mirafiori.com (or both Wink) please cos the BAA address is at my work (Mon to Fri). Thanks. Cool

Thanks for your kind words Enzo.  Smiley I too hope that I don't have to sell the Racing and who knows, perhaps something will turn up on the work front and I won't have to. I have one week of full-time work left, so lets hope I'm lucky Grin

Thanks for your email Chris which I have read now but don't seem to be able to send a reply to Roll Eyes so please excuse the posting on this thread.

The main rot is in the leading edge of the bonnet, (photo below), door tops and bottom corners (although the doors are still extremely good and should be a very simple repair - drivers door pictured), and the place above each of the front wheels where the rubber bonnet bump stops sit. These are pretty bad but have not rotted completely through.

It paints a pretty poor picture but there is really not all that much rot in the car at all and it's totally complete. I don't want to sell it as it drives beautifully and still turns heads.

Speedo in KPH and rev counter now works - it didn't when I collected it. Roll Eyes

Value is up to you but it has to be in Sterling and a four figure number - to the left of the decimal point Wink I shall take a view of any and all offers and consider the options. Don't worry about offending me - I've driven FIATs all of my life so have taken most insults Roll Eyes Wink

Simon did you ever cavity wax the car? could you post some pics of the inner wheel wells, front & rear turrets, under the floor & chassis legs, also the sills, the bonnet stops area, wiper panel & under the carpet area where the seat sits? thanks.

Sid, no I have not cavity waxed the car - it's only done 1000 miles in my care and I've never driven it in the rain.

I'll take some more pics but I won't be lifting any carpets just yet mate, sorry. Best to come and take a good look if you're really interested then there's absolutely no doubt. Wink Even pics don't always tell the whole story do they. Undecided

good luck with the sale but what money is on her and hopefully the usual begrudgers dont start pointing out any problems that do or dont exist  Roll Eyes as we are all in the same boat with this recession and hopefully you have a good swift sale and it goes to a good home as I feel quite a few projects will end up on the scrap heap as the money dries up  Shocked Shocked Shocked
