131 Racing 2000TC;
1980;
Silver with black velour interior;
UK registered;
Imported from Italy by me in 2005 and been in my possession ever since; Not the usual rot box but is now starting to need attention in the usual places;
complete in original factory spec and running but with faults as listed;
cannot be driven over long distances as the water pump has now given up the ghost Roll Eyes;
sagging headlining;
engine smoky - probably hard valve stem oil seals;
very slight leak from four branch exhaust manifold
tyres only covered approx 2,000 miles from new (in 2006);
Buyer collects;
Genuine enquiries only;
Extremely reluctant sale as a result of unemployment - if I find a job before the car sells it will be taken off of the market.

To truly understand what you are buying please come and view the car before commiting - I will not take and email 100s of photos of it or tear up carpets, sorry.

Pics taken end Feb 09

Car located in about half an hours drive from London Heathrow airport.

Hi Albert,

Yes, some interest in the sale but nothing yet concrete. Still, it's early days just yet.

Things are starting to get a little better on the job search front, well, more enquiries anyway but still no interviews or offers. Undecided I live in hope. Wink

Have you tried it in Classic Car Weekly Simon? It's free to advertise and it has worked for me in the past for both buying and selling.

There are still some people out there who do not use the internet.  Grin

Simon,

I hope you will have interviews soon too!!

For sure I also hope that you don't have to sell the Racing anymore or at least find a real fanatic who keeps it original and brings it into showcondition!

If things don't work out just send me PM Wink

No need to be nasty Mark. I only had missed calls from an unknown mobile number on my mobile during the day yesterday. I have no missed calls prior to that.

As I explained in my email to you yesterday I do not answer my mobile when driving as I do not have "handsfree" in my Abarth. I emailed you and Kev to explain that yesterday I was tied up all day on the Classic Cars photoshoot in the New Forest (see separate thread posted last night). Today TalkTalk have only just reconnected my internet Roll Eyes so I shall call your mate shortly. Failing that he could always call me again.

Just a quick note to let you all know that I sold my 131 Racing this morning, and amazingly enough it did not go to Ireland. Wink Grin

A really nice guy from Wales drove 270 miles out this morning with his mate and offered me what I thought was OK money - so I had to let it go.  Cry I'm sure that I have sold a very solid car and I hope that the new owner enjoys it as much as I have. Grin I am extremely sorry to see it go, but the current state of my finances dictates it I'm sorry to say.

Perhaps one day I'll have another Racing or Sport, although the chances of getting a good original one are getting slimmer. Sad

Well I know the lad that got it and he has some good indoor storage for it as the years outdoors in the British climate have not been kind to the metal work but he will now start all the work needed to bring it back...
