About 2 weeks ago I got a call from the Strada130.co.uk to present my 131 for some photo's against some Strada 130tc's at Bruntingthorpe Airfield in Leicester.

It was a last minute thing and I cut my holiday short to attend. My wife was not happy, trust me! Anything to get a photo in A.I!!!!!

As I arrived I noticed a few 128's leaving and then found out out that A.I was doing a feature on them. I had a feeling Graham would be there and Mike Zollo who I sold my mint 3dr Tipo 16v.

I waited near the entrance till all the 130's arrived and off we went round to the track side in convoy.

To here seven 2.0 litre twin cams on twin carbs is the best sound ever! As we arrived to the start of the 2mile straight, I see Graham and Mike! It was a quick hello and good bye as we all full throttle along the straight to take some pics.

I've got to say that although my clutch is on it's way out, the 131 suprised me against the 130's. An interesting Speedo photo will follow as soon as I've found how to resize it.

I enjoyed the time there and it bought back great memories of my Croma Turbo there in 2006 featuring an executive 80's shootout! It's a pity I had to leave asap as a few laps in the Sport would of been nice.

There are lots of pics on the Strada130.co.uk site of the day.

The fuel needle was decreasing rapidly! I had to get home quick! lol

I use to see 120 to 125 many a times with my dad in his B reg 131 super on our run to Derby from South Norwood London. I remember on the A6, a B road in Derby how a Freg Escort RS Turbo could not pass us as the B road beast out performed it. Just remembered the Cortina mk5 2.0 on the M1 that couldn't keep it's pace with the twin cam- his engine blew after about 5 miles of full throttle lead!

In the Sev family, 3 generations drove this car and for sentimental reasons I will never sell her.
