SORRY for all the questions guys.
Im starting to build up a spares collection.
Will a clutch cable for a 131 s 75-84 be ok for my sport ?.
I assume the 131 s means special not sport.?.
Ordering and finding  parts when not an expert can be awkward sometimes as you have 1.3 1.6 2.0 2.0 diesel OHV DOHC etc.
Thanks.

Re your question on clutch cables, all the twin cam versions (rhd) I have seen (inc sport) have had a long cable which comes out of bulkhead attaches to the front crossmember (below radiator) via clips and then to gearbox and the other versions (ie pushrod engines) use a short cable which goes across the top of the engine. most of the clutch cables I have seen on ebay etc are the short version for the push rod engines.

I would guess yes but as usual although I have one somewhere I can not find it to check for sure! I assume you still have one on the car? If so I would compare the two to check it out.

Dont want to go on about this one but would like to know what the S in 131 S stands for when ordering or looking for parts is it special or sport ?.
It must be wrong one i have if Daves clutch cable measures 1935mm and this one is 1630mm.

The S stands for special which was a series 1 model. Looking at the photo you posted I don't think it will fit a sport as the clutch end of the cable is the wrong design.

As far as I know all the cables for series 2 and 3 cars with the five speed box had the threaded end described earlier.

Simon and a few others have series 1 131s on here. Sell it to one of them as a spare Grin

That cable in the picture definately is not for a sport or any mk2 or mk3 but the pedal end is the same so it must be mk1 ?
