Great pic for showing where the numbers are Enzo. Thanks. Grin

106's engine has a casting number that ends in a different number to the 131 Sport engine you have photographed so we'll have to see what type number he is able to get off his block Cool

Yes Nick, looks like all three of your engines are 2 litre - two Sport/Racing units and one from a 132. Grin

Gents,

If the block definately has 132 DB then it is a Volumetrico.

There are several types with 132 D, for reference see the info here....

http://www.netikka.net/ville.vieri/tc/tclist.htm

Good also for the different locations of the individual unique engine number on the Twin cams  Cool

exactly, and it WILL WORK FINE  in your 131.
as for the gear ratios, as far as i know, there was only a diferent 5th gear ratio in diferent versions. some had 0.82/1 and some 0.78/1, so diference is small.
also, there's two diferent gearbox types on 131 and 132s, both having a cast marking on the side, one being 131AA and other 131AB. on the outside they look the same apart from diferent exit shaft. the part connecting the gearbox with rubber donut is sliding in one type, and bolted with a big nut on other. My 132 diesel had 131AA gearbox originally, and i swapped it for a 131AB when original one croaked after something like 400.000kms. if there was any diference in gear ratios i never noticed because i also swapped a rear axle at same time, instaling one from 132 1800gls, with shorter diff ratio and rear disc brakes.

106,

Engine type is 132 C2.000 so you have a 1,995cc Twin Cam from a 132 Grin

0758720 is probably the unique, sequential engine number for that unit.

Seems to have a 131 gearbox fitted, but the BB doesn't fit the AA or AB refs from djape1977.

i guess its still essentially the same gearbox. frankly, i have much more experience with 132s than with 131s. 131BB is probably found only in 131s since i never saw it in 132.
@106usj - post some pics of gearbox here so we can identify it more precisely. rear end of gearbox is rhe important bit since it may require different propshaft to fit to your car

106

To list all the different types of TC engine, as per Fiat's Engine Type on the vehicle data plate would take ages as the same fundamental engine was often given different 'type' designations depending upon the car it was fitted in, as can be seen above in the case of the 2 litre TC, for example -

131 C4.000   131 Series 3, 2000TC Supermirafiori
132 C2.000   132 2000
131 B2.000   131 Sport/Racing

All basically the same 1,995cc twin cam unit but used in different models.

The 1,600 units are even more difficult to list as the 1,600 was available as a 1,585cc, 1,592cc and 1,608cc unit and was given a 131, 132 and 125 'type' designation in each case, but for example the 1,585cc was used in the Fiat 131, 132 and Argenta models (RWD) as well as the Regata 100S and Strada 105TC (FWD), not to mention the various Lancia applications . Shocked

I could write a list but it would take ages and no-doubt someone would say I'd missed an application.

Gearboxes are another matter altogether and to be blunt, I haven't a clue where to start with those

From here you can find quite a good list of Fiat TC engines: http://www.netikka.net/ville.vieri/tc/tclist.htm

EDIT: Seems that this link is already posted earlier. Sorry...  Undecided
