I' ve found an 131 ohv engine and i can't define what  type is it ?
As far as i know Fiat equipped the early 131s with 1,3 ohv and 1,6 ohv
For the 1,3 there were 2 options? A low compression 55 hp which was only exported to the German market (if not wrong ) and a 65 hp one for the rest.
The numbers that the block is marked are somehow confusing.
131 AB 0A0 and part number 4335634.In most part catalogues the 131 ohv engines are categorized as 131A  131B 131F  even 131AB 000 but never with the above combination.
The head part number is 4346600 which is the same number appearing in 124 ohv heads too.
What surprised is that a friend rebuilding a dohc 131 engine is using a 4335634 block too?
Is it possible to mount an ohv derived block to twincam head ?
I ;ve attached a photo . Can anyone identify the engine ...is it a 55hp a 65 hp an 1,6 ohv ?
Thanks in advance

Sorry, a slip of the finger on my part. Embarrassed I meant to say it's a 1.6 with 75 bhp. Grin

The 65 bhp was the 'standard' 1300cc, 55 bhp was a 'German Version' Low Octane Rating (LOR) 1300, with a 60 bhp 'Tropics Version' of the 1300 LOR also available.

Sorry for the confusion. Smiley

Thank you for your reply ,one last question .. how an 1600 cc ohv engine differs from an 1300cc ohv  from the identification numbers ?
Is there anykind of 131 engine number index featuring the Ohv id's as well as the twincam id numbers?

For me the same would be interesting, because I have a Fiat 238 with an OHV engine from 131 fitted and I need to know, if it 's 1.6 or 1.3 to order the correct spares for. Is there a difference from outside?  Different Height?
