Hi All,

I suppose what I have to mention is only 'new' for those of us driving from the UK, but might also affect others hence my mentioning it here Wink

We need to be mindful of various Laws of the Road which are likely to affect us, along with items that we should all have in our cars in case of emergency.

1) A First Aid kit is mandatory in Germany

2) France and Belgium require Hi-Vis vests or jackets to be worn if you have to exit your vehicle on the carriageway. These are 'recommended' in Luxembourg too.

3) I have also just read about a new Law being applied to Germany, similar to that in France, whereby traffic joining a carriageway from the right has 'right of way', that is to say that traffic on any road has to give way to traffic joining it from the right(!) Shocked Sounds amazing to me, but it might just be true.  This is apparently to slow down the traffic in built-up areas (!). Smashing into the back end of cars tends to do that I suppose Roll Eyes

Can anyone please confirm or otherwise these Rules and please advise us if there anything else that we should consider?

Thanks

Simon

Thats 118mph for you, 100mph for me and probably 95 for Jason - Theo and Andy will probably disappear at 130mph! Wink

that rule is general and applicable if there's no traffic signs or streetlights to point otherwise, but there's usually stop signs or inverted triangles to inform you who has to go first.

check in which countries along the way you must have your lights on all the time, even during daytime. when such rule was introduced in Hungary several years ago, hungarian police had a field day with tourists driving withouth lights during day.

Because Marko (and perhaps me too) doesn't havea real faith in he's carfixingskills, we decided to take also a reliable car and a TRAILER with us. So the worst case scenario is that we take the Racing for a ride (on the trailer) in Swartswald instead of driving it  Wink Wink Wink

Can you get 14 cars on your trailer  Huh

My sport never ever let me down all the time I had it -It developed a misfire once going through Liverpool that sounded like a gunshot going off every time I pulled away from traffic lights giving it full beans -but it was great  Grin

I wish you guys all the best for the trip and hope the weather is kind to you .
Who knows maybe next year  Roll Eyes

As Firstlady told I am going to take a car trailer with me.

If you like, it is fine with me that my car will follow this astonoshing group of 131's working as a "Service Car".

What my wife haven't still realized is that if my Racing works fine, I have a space in my trailer for one more car that I can buy from Germany. As a souvenir...  Grin Wink Grin
