how can i remove paint from glass

i recently bought a 131 and some glass is sprayed with paint........what should i do/use to remove it without damaging or matting the glass?

thinner is not good i was told is it true?

You can use a rasor blade and scrap the paint off.   I do it every day.

dot2 brake fluid will clean it flawlessly. just don't get it onto painted parts of the car. if the glass is removed from the car, apply brake fluid onto sprayed areas and let it work it's magic for hour or two than simply wipe off with a rag.

Thinner is fine to use - just dont spill any of it on any paintwork you dont want to remove !! - IPA is good too ( Iso propyl alchohol) or even MEK if available ( Methyl Ethyl Ketone) But Mek will eat rubber ,plastic,paint etc. so be very careful - but strangely enough - it wont remove coffee stains - go figure !!

I personally would stick to a blade or wire wool, it makes less mess.....

I too would use (and have done in the past) the blade method. It's foolproof as well as spillproof.

but fingers aren't cutproof and glas is not scratchproof

True about fingers    Especially arthritic ones like mine that don't seem to do exactly what I want and expect them to do    But it will take a lot to scratch tempered glass with a blade I think. I would guess that usually paint on glass will be near the edge and because of bad masking when spraying so I'd be very careful using thinners as it will damage rubber parts. Brake fluid will be fine on rubber but it's so damaging to paint that I would be scared to use it.

I agree a stanley blade will remove any & all paint splashes with minimum fuss and no damage to your glass.
