I wondered if the short one was a LHD part.

Were the clutch arms all on the same side? I know different engines had the starter on different sides not sure about the clutch. As you say it could be the difference between LHD and RHD

It does seem like the traders on ebay are selling lhd cables which explains why they are permanently on there.  I assume they are shorter as the cable does not need to go round the engine. Did anybody manage to find a correct one??

my one is approx 1900mm.

That'll probably be 1845mm which is a 132 or Argenta clutch cable. These are often fitted to 131s (I have one  Wink)

1624mm is the correct length for the RHD 131 and it should fit. The LHD cables are much shorter at about 1200mm

The cables on both of mine are long enough to be held by a large (wiring) clip on the crossmember. The shorter ones would probably touch the crankshft pulley!  Ive looked on ebay & the 132 ones look totally different & i would prefer the standard look given the choice.  Has anyone managed to find the longer one?

After a conversation with Quinton Hazel some years ago, I can tell you they didn't know they were selling the LHD cable.  Since the information is passed around these companies, you can see why there are so many LHD types around. People are just running them under the sump.

Hope this helps or is off some use.
