I have been wanting a 131 Sport for 2 Years and nothing has come up / been offered at the right money. The right money being ?6-?9k.

Rob,

there were several interesting cars on offer in the last 2 years, on the forum and elsewhere, for example Jean's 131 - in the requested price range and presumably a very good car. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250968923453&category=9801&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 (still not sold I suppose).

Spending a little more money would have bought you Paul's NZ 131. In perfect state and with a powerful engine.

An orange Sport was available in Italy for 5000 Euros.

And so on, all during the last 2 years - just browse the "for sale and wanted" category.

However, if you choose to wait until someone approaches you with an individual, personal offer, I'm afraid you'll have to wait for ages. Why don't you take action if you are as keen as you say on buying a Sport?

As someone on another forum said it's getting to the point now where you could buy a car from Europe and import it cheaper. As we have seen there is a good choice of 131s for sale around Europe and not many four doors have asking prices of more than this.

If it was RHD it would be a real rarity but it's LHD just like the cars for sale in Europe.

If it continues to rise it will soon be in the realm of Sport money.

Dave

RHD or LHD; I am not overly concerned. Would obviously prefer RHD.

This car looks like an extremely good example and therefore people will pay  Grin Grin more then I thought  Shocked Shocked Shocked

it makes you wonder just how much these two are worth although, i have always maintianed i do not want to know as i am not selling. it also makes you worry, as already stated with the escort.  if we are not careful, we (the enthusiasts) will be priced out of our own hobby.
as it happens i have pretty much most of the parts required to convert this car to RHD in stock including a mint brown dashboard, i'll need some convincing to part with them though.

Obviously more people are interested in the 4 door 131s over there than they are here. This will probably not sell at the price he wants.

Unless I am somewhat mistaken I don't think anyone is into 131's to make money.

I can't see there is much to be made.

For those that have a 131, any price increase is welcome. However, most on this forum would not want to part with their cars.

For those without 131's there appears to be cars available for under ?1,000 to over ?40,000. Effectively a 131 for all pockets. Smiley Smiley Smiley
