Nice motor Chris - Where did ya get it?  Grin

All it needs is to be lowered, a set of wide wolfrace alloys and spots.  Wink

At that sort of money I sincerely hope the car has been closely examined and taken on a long test drive as that is approaching almost double the money Phil paid for his blue one Shocked.

More like treble Simon.  Shocked

Like most people I'm genuinely surprised the bids have gone this high...when LHD cars are quite commonly available on the continent. The only explanation I can think of is that this car has had the import leg work already done and it's ready to drive away.

Plus it's available for inspection relatively easily.  Going to Sicily earlier in the year was quite a logistical challenge as well as being quite a daunting return trip by road. A flight/drive to Belfast is simple enough.

Isn't it also remarkable that with 12 different bidders that noone on here has admitted to being in contention...or maybe that's part of their strategy. I'm sure some of the bidders have had to re-assess their level of committment to buy as time progresses....... I'm definitely not in the bidding but I hope the winner is a member here and that the car joins the community.  Smiley

Kev

Good job I am not a betting Man. I had you down as one of the bidders and was looking forward to providing similar comments to you that I sent when you bought the S2 Super  Grin Grin. Your silence on this car, I thought was a give away that you were one of the bidders.

The winning bidder is most likely someone on the forum.

Regarding the S2 Super, you are keeping details of this very quiet   Grin Grin.

I've always liked the look of Phil's S3 Super and if this was ?2k ish then it was a real bargain.

I knew that this would happen with this Super from the start  Grin 54 bid's  Shocked so far, this Super has just shattered all the eBay records for a 4 door Super 131's over here  Shocked and it not over yet !

I think it did start over a year ago with phil's S3 Super, before this 4 door Super 131's were sell for very little money on eBay.

I did think 2 years ago when I got my first Super, that it had to happen as these 4 door Super 131's are so rare in Ireland and the UK now  Smiley

What would a mint RHD Super make now ?

I don't think it's necessarily fair to compair this car with mine to closely, as I feel that the vehicles conditions when sold are quite different.

On the face of it this car looks in very good condition - as far as you can tell on photo's - Kev did you get up to look at this car? If so you may be able to confirm what the condition of the car is like and how that compares to my car before & after I had the body repairs completed.

When I brought my S3 it had damage to the NSF wing, OSF door, OSR door. OSR wing and the roof, all of which I have now had repaired, also I now have some more paintwork & corrosion to sort out on the NS of the car and a small amount of welding to the chassis.

Who ever buys this car, I hope for their sake it is as good as it looks in the photo's, we all know of the sort of problems that old 131's are capable of hiding  Huh

But selling one car for a high price doesn't mean all cars go for that level of money. Beside that, aren't there fun bidders around? First see, then believe, but on the other side: Start restoring a car properly and you easyly can double or triple the amount it is on now, most people forget that.

Something I've just realised. The auction ends at just after 1 am. I wonder if this will affect the bidding at the end of the auction?
