Yes, there should be two, one at the top and one at the bottom.

Forum member Marko has remanufactured these out of stainless steel which are much better quality than the plastic originals.  It's Marko's stainless trims that I have on my car in the photo above http://www.131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=4526.msg38299#msg38299

In the words of the ancient Greek Theocritus, γὰρ ἕρωṯί ρολλάκίς‥ṯὰ μή καλὰ καλὰ ρέϕανṯαί which loosely translated means: for in the eyes of love that which is not beautiful often seems beautiful. Or to use a more common phrase Beauty is in the eye of the beholder  Grin

It's a funny thing. Everything once chrome on any 131 is black on the Racing/Sport. Then Fiat decided to add a part to the car...in chrome... Wink Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yes, very strange. Which is why I always used to say "better without the trim" and took them off. Then I changed my mind when I tried Marko's excellent reproductions  Cheesy

True 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

However, what was the result of the poll Wink Wink

The majority (40%) liked them! and an additional 10% said they'd like them if they were silver, which of course now they are. So over half the  people, from those who expressed a preference, like them!  Grin Not that it would make any difference to me  Grin Grin http://www.131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?topic=5055.0

I think that fiat just carried them over from the 1600 twin cam which also has them Also if you have ever seen the black paint on the door or side back window after it flakes off Its chrome or polished stainless that is painted black Shocked

I have never seen that trim with the chrome on a 131 sport that I or any of my friends owned but I have seen this on supermirafiori's.
All the 131 sports we had were fitted with the all black fluted trim.

All the 131 sports we had were fitted with the all black fluted trim.

That's because people (including me) used to take them off or the plastic "chrome" strips just used to crack and fall off.
