I have a nasty crunching sound coming from the steering rack. Only noticeable when turning whilst stationary, not when moving or jacked up. Both tie rods have been replaced as a precaution but made no difference.
I did have this rack refurbished (with a second spare one) when I rebuilt the car but was always suspicious whether it was a 'satisfactory' job as the first one failed within a few days.
I would greatly appreciate a new one but would accept lesser as long as it is in a refurbishable condition.
