EYB506Y My third 131 Sport

This was my 3rd 131 Sport (5th 131).  I bought it in Sherborne in Dorset and drove it back to East Anglia which was one very long day out    It was about  ?400,  three owners from new.

After a quick service the next week I had to go to Newcastle (on the road as it was in '93) in 6 hours it didn't miss a beat.

This was the best 131 Sport I had mechanically, it just purred so smoothly and the trim was in "as new" condition.

The 35mm pics are from a two week holiday in Ireland in '94, it's Tallaght just outside Dublin having docked in Rosslare and driven through the Wicklow mountains.

The journey continued all the way to Co. Mayo and still the 131 Sport never missed a beat

That was the price of them back then Steve. I paid ?450 for EVW 15T with a new MOT and 4 new tyres..!

Very nice!! I paid ?900 for SFS 639V in 1995 and sold it for ?900 one year later! Best ?900 I ever spent.

Hi Guys, glad you like the pics, I'm still trying to find the pics of my 2nd 131 Sport (PLR465W) in Black.  Drove this one in Spain, really wish I could find the pics...

I know what you mean Kev.....prices have changed    The cheapest 131 I ever bought was ?60 as a "runner".  

By the time I collected it is was a "non runner".  As luck would have it my brother in law (Member Duncan 124AC) towed it for me with his 2.0 "T reg" MK4 GL Cortina (replaced with a 131 Sport in Grey - obviously)

It was the fuel pump in the end - fitted a second hand one that I had "in stock".  The welding took much of my free time for a month or so........

This silver 131 Sport that I had (EYB506Y) went on to rescue an Audi Coupe 2.2..... sorry it's a re post but we all need to see a FIAT 131 Sport towing a broken 2.2 Audi Coupe
