That's a beauty Jason. Congratulations.

I've read great things about the cars. Would love to see what the fuss is all about some day

Just be thankfull for the belt & change it. It does seem like a low K change period though. They may be erring on the safe side as the damage is expensive to repair if the belt breaks.
My Toyota 18 rg has two chains in the front. The r is for rattle. 18 rg is a 2 litre 8 valve twin cam.

I assume cam belt change is cheaper for the 2liter than it is for the 3liter. The latter cost me 1000? including ALL parts (belt, pulleys, water pump...), and this was a bargain  Shocked

Do it or have it done - but do it!

Nice one Jas, it's a great engine and glad your getting that belt kit and variator done. Done a few where the plastic guide roller has disintegrated causing belt failure and all new valves fitted. Think the later belt kits had a uprated guide roller.

Nice car! I'm into Alfas also (own a 147 and a GT).
Didn't know though that 166 had a Ti version, and it's the first time that I see the Ti wheels in 18"
