Fiat power No mercy !!!

« on: May 19, 2014, 09:14:17 PM »

Hi guys!
I have found a supermirafiori 2000tc -83 ,its a barnfind but it was supposed to been used in traffic between 83-85 and then stored at a cars salers basement till it was driven one summer in 2002 so the milage is only 29000km, its a chestnut metallic paint, outside looks good the only visible rost is on the inside of the engine lid.
The interior has saggy roof and a little worn drivers seat bottom, and a scar in the upper plastic on the drivers door, and a cracked gearboot.

It needs a new cambelt and brakeoverhaul, reconditioning,
So what's the proper value for a car in this state?

Cheers Alf

Price is extremely subjective Alf and without seeing the car it's almost impossible to value correctly.

That said however a Super is worth less than a Racing/Sport and the Super in question has been stood for some time so will certainly need additional works to make fully roadworthy again, such as brake hoses, etc. as you say, and whilst I personally like the brown colour the best colour for an S3 Super is arguably blue. I would also question the mileage as a driver's seat should not show signs of wear after 29k km.

A mechanically good, rust free S3 Super 2000TC in roadworthy condition needing no work is probably worth a maximum of ?5,000 in the UK, less on mainland Europe. If it was me and the car is truly a good example I'd probably be looking to offer at about ?1,000 - ?1,250 to start with, but I wouldn't pay much more than ?2,000 for it considering the work needed to bring back to the road. But this is the UK and not Sweden and I have no idea what the 131 market is like in your country.

I hope this helps.

Hi!
Thanks Simon and Sid for your comments, i really need help on this matter, is it a genuine lowmilage car, the speedo turns around at 100,000km , can it be 1289100km or?

The market on supers in Sweden is that it is about 30 of them left and this is probably the best i have seen, the others are rusted away!
I think that i can offer 1900GBP and get it, but for me its alot of Money!

From what I can see in the pics Alf I would say that 1900 GBP is not expensive for this car, and if I was able to buy it I certainly would for that price!

I would also say that the overall condition would tell me that it had only done 28k km. The body work looks great, especially that rear arch, and the sills still appear to be in factory paint.

I'm sorry that the price is a lot of money for you but that is the price for a decent 131 these days. Rest assured however that the price of 131s is only going one way so I'd say grab one whilst you can  Grin

One thing you don't say in any of your postings is whether the car starts and runs. If it does then to me it's a sure purchase. Cool

Hi and thanks Simon!
The Engine hasnt been started since 2002 ,the owner says that it should run great like it did when he stored it, but due to the cambelt it should be shanged first Before start.

I have to persuide my wife right now to se if the budget can take it..

It's looks a nice original Super Alf, has a sunroof too. Hope you get it Wink the door cards have not been butchered with holes for radio speakers Smiley

This is the front seat in my S3 Super 1400/TC with 42000 KM.

I seen this Super about 2 years ago it had I think around 80000KM, same cloth in the one you are looking at.

Thanks, c.a.c 131!
Its yours and kevins s3 in almost new shape that got my attention,i didn't think it was possible to find one here in Sweden, with the high humidity and salted roads in the winters killed all 131 in good shape a long time ago.

Mostly rust buckets left if you can find one at all, they only sold 131 supermirafiori 2000tc here in 82-83 and what i find was that its about 30 left with papers but i don't think there is any in better shape than this.

we will have to see what happens, nothing is final until the car is in my garage.

Looks to be a very original Super with an acceptable price Alf, make it a runner and you will hardly get a nicer example. The sunroof is a great bonus. Take it if possible, this quality is really scarce!

Good luck!

I agree Alf. The colour is the brochure colour and is a great find. Price is a bargain even if the mileage is 129,000! You won't regret it... Smiley

Hope you get it Smiley You could get a steel sunroof on Irish market S3 Super 2000/TC back in the day.

Colour is original and the same of mine, is "marrone bruciato metallizzato 732" as you can check inside the trunk cover. Can you please post some pictures of the inner part of the roof and of the car when you get it out of there? Very nice example, if it's rust free you have a bargain.
