EDIT: LINK to the cars for sale.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/grahamckennedy/sets/72157604167870965/

Thank you. END EDIT

The first stage is imminent in the next 10 days or so,
maybe less, when Gerry Kennedys apartment is to be cleared out.

The apartment is in County Laois in Ireland.

I am under discreet pressure from the owners to have it stripped and cleaned ASAP, as it is their only source of income.

I can easily understand their position.

This is a treasure trove of Fiat 132 parts / bits and pieces, and rare Fiat documents.

I can't store much of this indefinitely due to storage costs...
______________________________________________________________

The next stage will be the disposal / re-distribution of all vehicles that are surplus to requirements, which means about 20 or more vehicles in various stages of serviceability, some in surprisingly great condition !

He also had some Renault 20's and a few Renault 25 / Safranes.

I won't be able to pay his storage costs for too long,
so the main break-up will be in the next 2-3 months or so.

I have two purposes for the proceeds of this sale:
1. I'm trying to defray the current storage costs, and
2. hoping to build a shed in County Clare with the remainder of the proceeds (hopefully),
to store the Pride of the collection, as he had been onto me for years to do....

Thank you.

PS If you know of someone who this may interest
will you please tell them, as I'm not a Fiat scene regular.

Is there any other places this ad should be placed,
so as we can save as many cars as possible,
any other forums or newsgroups that would be interested ?

I put it into the www.buyandsell.ie 10 minutes ago, the Nationwide edition.

Please feel free to forward my posting to all interested sites,
but if you can, just remove the phone number first.

Thanks again.

I would place an ad on here for any cars which are for sale, with photos, details and price etc. You should also advertise on the Fiat Motor club site. I shouldn't do this as I have too many cars already but, I may be interested in a 132. I have always liked them and have never owned one. Yet! Perhaps I would part with one of my 131s to add one to my collection. My prefered car would be a 132 2000. Condition does not have to be excellent, just restorable as I enjoy rust removal and welding. Well at least I tell myself I do.  Smiley

Do you have a link, is it as free site or a sign up and pay ?

If it's a sign up and pay, could someone with a fairly clean account
re-post this ad over there, please ?

Hi Graham - Here is the Fiat Club GB link - It's a general forum so "for sale" adds are mixed up with everything else.

http://www.fiatmotorclubgb.com/

Have you thought about preparing a fully documented catalogue of the cars with photos and history where known and then holding an auction which has been advertised first? I'd be happy to give you a Saturday to help out with the preparation work.

Where parts are concerned Bren says that many are interchangeable with the 131 so I would certainly be interested in any such parts, eg alternators, brake shoes, pads, air filters, etc.

I've posted the message on the Fiat Motor Club (GB) forum and made it into a 'sticky' so it will stay at the top:

I'll be there Graham... for selfish reasons as well as being happy to help you out.

There aren't many better ways for spending a day than rooting around amongst old Fiats and parts, etc? Grin

Just try to avoid any Heineken cup weekends please!

I would make some enquiries about the services of an auctioneer and tapping into their contacts - You could generate a lot of interest with the right marketing.

OK lads, cars are removed form storage and are out in the open
for viewing at O'Sheas in Abbeyeix, County Laois, Ireland.

Come down with a transporter and nab yourself a bargain.

This is it now, the end of the line for Gerry's collection.

Massive haul of spares available too !!

Sales cordinator for this event is Brendan O' Beirne of Orange 131 fame.
Phone him at 00 353 86 2213175 (Local 086 2213175).
Brendan says no reasonable offer refused.
