Been looking for one of these for a while now & found it on eBay last week, has just been fully refurbished.

Voxson Indianapolis stereo cassette available as a exchange unit at extra cost. Was the top of the range radio of your 131 back in the day, would have been expensive when new.

I have two of the above the basic one and the electronic one with the removable front.

The removable front one was the one I really wanted as that's what my father's car had fitted to it.

There's one missing from your pics Chris.

The most common form of the radio available for the UK market back in the day was an extremely simple LW/MW radio only unit, much as the Kyalami but without the FM and FMS positions on the right-hand knob - virtually useless today as most UK radio stations transmit on FM.

I've got six or seven of the MW units I can put my hand straight on as we always used to swap them out either with the FM/FMS Kyalami from scrapyards or with aftermarket radio/tape units which were usually much cheaper than buying through FIAT!

Also, the Series 1 131 came as standard with no radio at all. Those that you picture were available for the S2 and S3.

Anyone that liked there music had a FM radio fitted & when it came time to sell the car they fitted the old LW MW radio back in Grin

My Dad had a Pioneer FM cassette that he had in his 128 3P & put it in both the 131's he had too.

On UK 131's

Very early S2 Super's didn't come with a radio, that's S reg Super's & some of the T regs Sad Most of them had a dealer fitted Motorola radio.

From 1979 to 1980 the Voxson radio's where fitted my info is for twin cam 131's, the Super's & Sport's in 1979 had the Mostro fitted as standard & you could exchange it + ? for a Nurburgring or Indianapolis stereo cassette one.

From May 1980 the Kyalami was fitted to all 131's standard, I am sure that the Fiat dealers changed radio's around back in the day too Grin If someone wanted a FM radio into the deal for free.
