Steve,

From the point of view of attendees on 3MA19 I'd just like to say that it will be all the poorer for you and Dawn not being with us.

Theo,

Any idea at which hour you will arrive at the abarth museum in Belgium? I will do my best to join you lot there with my racing.

We are catching an early 6:00am ferry arriving in Dunkirk at 9:00am local time:
Departing: Tue 04/06/2019 06:00, Arriving: Tue 04/06/2019 09:00

According to Google maps, it'll take just over 2 hours to drive to the Abarth Works Museum. Allowing for time to disembark the ferry and any necessary comfort, coffee, refuelling stops, I'd guess we'll be at Guy's around 12:30pm. We can only spend a couple of hours there as we'll have a long way to drive to our overnight stop (which we haven't sorted yet!  Roll Eyes ) Currently we have five 131s coming from the UK.

For the UK contingent of five 131s, the 3ma19 adventure starts at Dover Docks on Tuesday 4th June. In fact for some of us it starts even earlier on Monday evening as we'll be staying overnight near Dover so we can easily make the Tuesday 5:00am rendezvous at the DFDS docks in Dover. All going well, the ferry will sail on time at 6:00am so we should arrive in Dunkirk at 9:00am local time. We'll then have a 200Km drive to get to the Abarth Works Museum in Lier. Our route is likely going to be round Antwerp so we should expect a lot of traffic although trying to avoid Antwerp will probably add 30 minutes to our journey. Ideally, we need to get to Guy Moerenhout's by 12:00pm as we should be leaving Guy's no later than 1:30pm. But I doubt any of that will happen.

From Guy's museum to our overnight stay at the Hotel Grand Filippo in Niederbronn  it's 430Km which will take 4.5 hours assuming we don't have any delays. Also assuming that we don't want to get to our hotel much later than 6:00pm, we should be leaving Guy's at 1:30pm.

I suggest we all have a hearty breakfast on the ferry so we don't need anything more than a snack for lunch and please make sure you have lots of € change for the toilets at the services!  Wink Grin

Stage 2 of the 3ma19 adventure will be from our overnight stay on Tuesday night to our home-from-home for 3ma19, the Hotel Parisi in Turin. The UK contingent will be staying Tuesday night at the Grand Hotel Filippo in Niederbronn, Alsace and others will be staying overnight further south at The Ox hotel in Heitersheim, Germany.  I suppose the convoy from the Grand Hotel Filippo can cross back into Germany and take a slight detour to The Ox and join up with everyone there or we could possibly arrange a meeting point at Motorway services. We'll need to stop at services before entering Switzerland so we could buy the Swiss Motorway Vignette. We also need to decide our route over or under the Alps and into Italy but time allowing I think it will be nice to go via the larger Swiss lakes  Cheesy

What about our other German 3maers? I believe some of them will be coming from the Stuttgart area so maybe we should arrange a 10:00am meet at The Ox and we all go from there?

Also what about our French 3maers? Not sure where they'll be coming from but The Ox might be a good meeting point for them too?

As it says above, the itinerary is "subject to change" and there's already a slight change of plans  Roll Eyes

On Thursday 6th June our morning departure time must be at 9:00am and not 9:45 as shown in the routebook. We must arrive at the National Automobile Museum as a group not later than 9:30am. We'll be met by Felipe and Giancarlo from the museum and they'll guide us and our cars to the front of the museum where we'll be allowed to park. We must arrive as a group by 9:30 and leave as a group because parking will be 'tight'.

Ernst, Jan, Holger and I will try our very best to be at the Ox or a nearby motorway meeting point around 10:00 for another "pre-3ma-convoying"  Cheesy Cool
A safe journey for everyone and enjoy your trip to Guy Moerenhout's !

Considering this was probably the least "organanised" of all 3mas (although 2014 is a very close contender  Grin ) it all worked out extremely well in the end. Or it did for me anyway and I think it was one of the better if not the best 3ma so far  Cheesy  Hugo behaved almost faultlessly on his 3677 km (2285 miles) Road to Turin adventure. Only problem(s) were a services fuse that got hot and shortened itself enough to ensure the drive over the Great St Bernard pass in thunder and lightning and hail and fog was made even more exciting by a steamed up windscreen. And what is suspected to be a blocked idling jet in the carburetor for  number 1 cylinder made for rather lumpy idling and created some very entertaining sound effects out of the exhaust pipe on the overrun but run perfectly fine above 2500RPM so the solution was not to stop or drive slowly!  Grin

Many thanks to Alberto and Michele for all their hard work and to Robert for sorting out the stickers in the last minute. We now have some "131mirafiori.com" window stickers for sale so watch this space....  Wink

Hello everyone,

finally managed to get some pictures sorted; I hope the attendees can enjoy them as memories as well as everybody who couldn't be there as a little replacement:

As usual these 4 (6) days have been over far to fast but provided lots of fun. It was a pleasure to meet old friends and to make new ones.
Many thanks to everybody there for having a great time !
