Title: The saddest 131 Post by: kev131 on December 22, 2006, 01:07:43 PM It's reasonably safe to assume that anyone reading this forum has at least a passing interest in Mirafioris and therefore has an ideal version in their mind (mine's a Black 131 Sport)...but what about the unloved versions?
This picture of a basic series 1 is the least attractive version in my eyes (yes it's below a Panorama Si? ?;D ) and this one looks very tired indeed. (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l250/kev131/Fiat1312Door1976.jpg) Can anyone better (or should I say worsen?) that? Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: simon131 on December 22, 2006, 03:07:16 PM It looks so sad - I WANT IT!!! I love it - I really do!!!
Wasn't it for sale a while back in France, Kev? I seems to remember thinking when I first saw it that I wanted it - and I still do. I hope someone loves it now! As for the least attractive - I disagree. I think the green effort with the yukkie spoiler that Theo managed to dig up on a different thread wins that award!! I love the Series 1, from basic to Abarth, and I love the Series 2. Oh, and the Series 3 (facelift). As the man said (I love) "all of the colours in all of the sizes". As long as no one has messed with it. I'll only ever consider original spec cars with standard everything! Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: Thotos on December 22, 2006, 03:48:05 PM I too think that the sad looking Series 1 car above looks like it's begging to be saved and I'd love to save it and have it. A bit of spit and polish and a new pair of headlamps and it will look raring to go and please its master :D
Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: parrish on January 03, 2007, 11:59:41 AM My contender for the saddest Fiat, youve probably seen this one on ano www.
Steve. (http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/4082/sb1eq0uk4.th.jpg) (http://img58.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sb1eq0uk4.jpg) Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: Thotos on January 03, 2007, 12:23:47 PM Yes that is a very sad looking 131 :'(
It belongs to James Seabolt (member jseabolt http://131mirafiori.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=11 on this forum) from the USA. It is his 'parts' car and probably still has lots of useful parts (other than body panels!). Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: Thotos on January 06, 2007, 12:33:57 AM Here's one from Iran. The photo was taken while the car was parked as it was obviously still in regular use. Doesn't look too bad from the front but those wheel trims ... :(

On the way to watch a drag racing meeting (which got canceled ,found out later) screeming down main country road on lovely sweeping bends, got to the last one and nudged the grass verge, spun me round to the oppersite side ditch, doing 50 mph backwards in the ditch and into a tree, missed all on coming traffic ,which stopped, towed me out and i drove home, with my mate and me un scatched. 17 and all the joys of motoring. ;D Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: kev131 on January 06, 2007, 10:29:16 PM As this thread seems to be taking a lean towards crashed (and therefore also sad) 131s here is my contribution. The contributor had just bought the car and done a lot of mechanical work before the third party turned right in front of the Fiat.
(http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l250/kev131/131crashed.jpg) This seems to be the right time for Wayne to post some pictures of his Black 131 Sport together with a? repair status update. Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: Thotos on January 13, 2007, 07:28:40 PM :'( This really depresses me as it's my car :'( (if it can be still called 'a car') :'(

In any case, most of it lives on - in my Racing!! ;D ;D The engine, the interior, the windscreen, the fuel tank and filler assembly...... Dudley is dead :'( Long live Dudley ;D ;D Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: covjek on February 01, 2007, 07:52:09 PM I think this guy on Nettiauto.com blows the competition of.This has got to be THE saddest 131 ever :(,the funny part is he wants 350? for the bugger! :o

Looks as if it just survived a demolition derby...? ?:'( :'( :'( :'( Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: simon131 on February 02, 2007, 07:13:39 AM I've scrapped cars in better condition than that! :o
Wonderful paint job (NOT!) - and I love the rear lights...all one colour! Poor car indeed! :'( No 131 should end up like this. Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: kev131 on February 03, 2007, 07:59:21 PM For some reason Fiat 131s are popular cars for scrap racing in Finland- There seems to be one or two in this condition perennially available for sale on nettiauto.com.
How about this for a sad 131 (Brava)?. What looks like a perfectly salvagable 2 door body shell being cut in two. Maybe the heading of this thread should change to 131 Horror show!? :'( (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l250/kev131/sparks.jpg) Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: covjek on February 03, 2007, 08:08:21 PM :o :o :o Horror indeed! Someone ought to beat some sense into that guy.On that pic he looks as if he`s enjoying this mutilation >:(.Some people have no shame. :-\
Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: kev131 on February 17, 2007, 10:29:05 PM More Morose & Melancholy Mirafioris
(http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l250/kev131/Fiat131DemoDerby.jpg) (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l250/kev131/fiat131_6.jpg) (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l250/kev131/Fiat131Turbo.jpg) Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: Thotos on February 17, 2007, 10:51:51 PM The last one doesn't look too bad ??? Looks more like "work in progress" :-\
I quite like the wheels in fact 8) Shame they don't match though.... :-[ Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: Upprcalypse on February 18, 2007, 12:29:36 PM I somehow like the colorsceme of the beat up black & yellow one :)
Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: simon131 on February 19, 2007, 08:17:48 AM Spot the model! ;D
Number 349 looks like a series 2 (door mirror and boot lid without 'grooves')Super (as the rear side window looks like it has a chrome strip at the top of the glass). CLs only had chrome at the bottom of the window glass. The rear wheels are CL too! ;D The black and yellow car looks like a series 1. It's not a Sport/Racing as there are no tabs on the wings for the spats, and the door handle has a chrome top. Later Super front wheel though - painted white. :-\ The green and red oxide car is a series 1 for sure. 'Grooved' boot lid and sideways 'T' rear lights. Also, anorak on, the rear ashtray has a chrome surround - only fitted in series 1 two doors. ;) Probably not a Special as there is no chrome around the front windows, or holes in the side panels for the trim strip. Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: kev131 on March 03, 2007, 06:33:00 PM Here is another candidate.... from Finland - In it's favour, the owner claims that it has done 240,000 kms!

The first one is an Abarth replica, must be worth thousands on ebay! ??? Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: miro-1980 on December 10, 2008, 01:24:35 AM Here is my saddest .
It is one of five 131's that were donors of parts for my 131 abarth project. Practically I took only the glass and plastic parts (pins, clips, ect.) Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: wak131 on December 10, 2008, 12:40:48 PM The work-in-progress car with wheels not matching is a turbo drag car i was reading about a few years ago...
My contribution to 131 saddness. Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: mick131 on December 10, 2008, 03:12:35 PM That white rep has the same wheels that I've got :o :o

Scrapped it for parts. Car cost 10 Euros. Took it apart completely (man, it was REALLY rusted!). Sold several parts (Kev, remember the roof spoiler?). Title: Re: The saddest 131 Post by: miraff on December 13, 2008, 10:19:40 AM the turkish 131s are spaceship ;D ;D ;D
