Looks the boot lid came into contact with a hungry shark! :) Title: Re: Atkinson's scrapyard 1991 Post by: Rob 131 on October 31, 2011, 04:47:03 AM Looks like a typical scrapyard picture from 1991. I remember in 1990, going to some of the scrap yards along the North Wales Coast looking for a boot carpet for my Sport :). Found one eventually ;D. The point is that I can remember them being full of Mirafiori's ???; of which 95% were S2 Super's and CL's.
The question is why were there so many scrapped ???, whereas Cortina's and Escorts of the same era, seem to be kept on the road :-\. Was it that the Fiat rusted more, was potentially more expensive to fix and its resale value was not as much. Probably a combination of all 3. Shame :'( :'( :'( :'( Just look at the Brown Super (9 Years old at the time) and surrounded by much older vehicles :-\. They never looked nice in Brown and it was never a popular colour for them. :( |
