I don't think so as either as I remember these on mk3 cortina's etc and just thought of them as tat from halford's.
Maybe static straps will make a come back, I can remember escort xr3's with eight or more on the back bumpers in the early eighties. :D

Also most cars got the roof cut out for the glass sunroofs that they used to fit from mobile vans in early to mid eighties and if you go back a bit more do you remember the sun strips with steve & tracey or what ever their names were and these usually came attached to the windscreen of  mk1 escorts  ;D

  I don't believe any serious 131 person would deface a decent looking Mirafiori with this type of rubbish, If that's a collectors part, let the collectors keep it at home with all the other period Halfords tat.

I know some serious 131 Racing owners that  have fully restored & rebuild their Racing's  &  have Louvre's fitted & also they would never buy anything from Halfords for their 131's ! those louvres are autoplas?
These guys are serious 131 owners & have the best 131 Racing's I have ever seen. The gun metal Racing left me spellbound when I seen it and anyone that knows me and my car's will know how fussy I am ! I have never seen a rebuild like this before ! complete restoration every nut & bolt restored or replaced, I could just look under the bonnet & underneath it all day long its better then new! The louvre can be removed in a few mins, and lots of Racing had them back in the day & it's their cars and they can put what they want on them !

   If you look down the side of both of these cars, that finish is so good NEITHER car needs embellishment of any kind. Would you you put gold leaf on Perfect???

I don't think people comprehend how much work went into Sids 131 apart from asking Fiat to completely re build a 131 from scratch using old tooling I don't think you will get near the standard that went into this car.
I can honestly say there will not be a more rust proof mint condition 131 in the whole of Europe if not the world.
I was lucky enough to get some regular email update pictures of Sids restoration as he went through it and its to a standard I've never seen the work he put into that 131 is outstanding.
As for 3MA I would be to scared to take it out of the drive to be honest  :)

I know there were some small fall outs and disagreements on this forum a while ago but even the folk that fell out with others must admit and at least acknowledge this is is a class 1 Fiat 131 restoration.

I totally agree with what you are saying, this is the best 131 Racing in the world better then new. 

I think anyone who takes the plunge to restore a 131 deserves praise whether its a professional restoration or even a DIY restoration just to get one back on the road.
I think we all tend to forget how few are left out there.

sids 131 is with out a doubt one of if not the best   131 sports around and I personally believe it will not be surpassed. the work that has  gone into this car is unreal,i have no doubt that nick is meticulous in his approach to his restorations,and a perfectionist in everything he turns his hand to, happy motoring
