Yes Theo,
The series 2 105TC was not a common sight in the UK, I think most people went for the 2.0L 130TC at the time and the 1.6L 105TC got left behind in the showrooms....a bit like the Stilo a few years later

I first discovered the series 2 car when my old friend Ian Pearce worked on a silver one at his garage.
It was a halfway design between the 85CL and 130TC, no bucket seats, no Abarth steering wheel but it had the same Veglia instruments as the 130TC.
Under the bonnet it looked the same as the series1 car, including the front suspension which was not as 'beefed up' as it was on the 130TC.
As far as I know there are no surviving pics of the 170TC 'mule'.
It was developed and dropped during the Lancia Racing period of Abarths history, probably due to percieved product clash between it and the Lancia range that Fiats bosses were more in favour of at the time....131 Volumetrico all over again

Little is recorded about the 170TC but it is known that it used the 16V 037 type engine but without supercharging, whether this was fuel injected or carburetted is as far as I'm aware not known.
Shame....another missed oppertunity by the big chiefs
