There is no need of oil pump in block, the distributor gear has it's own bushing. I had dry sump in my 16v engine and i was using distributor in block.
Well, I live and learn! I thought the oil pump/distributor drive gear is located by the oil pump shaft. It's a long time since I've looked there but I can't remember the gear having its own bushing. Then again I can't remember anything these days so I am sure you are right and I am wrong.
I was hoping someone had done a similar thing so I could find out where is the best place to plumb in the Accusump and the pipework to get the oil into the filter and back into the motor.
I have an Accusump and a remote oil filter but an in-engine oil pump. The oil pump pickup is modified (shortened) as I have a big-wing baffled sump. The Accusump and remote filter pickup in my case is plumbed into a pickup plate where the oil filter used to be.
I can take close-up photos of the Accusump and oil filter plumbing if you like.
