I'm sourcing parts for my 131 restoration. There is chance to score stripped drivers side door and I'm looking for some guidance for shipping this bulky and (somewhat) heavy item from UK to the US. Can anybody suggest any shipping companies? Can it go via Postal Service? How about FedEX? Thanks in advance for help.

Companies like FedEx can be used from the UK and Europe to the US. Size is the major price factor here and some bigger items are too big to send.

There are some specialist companies that can do bigger stuff. I just sent a big box of Mercedes parts from the UK to Malaysia. The buyer arranged it and I think it cost about ?230 to send.

It is better to stick with one of the bigger companies like FedEx or UPS, because the smaller companies will just hand it off to FedEx or UPS once it arrives in the US and you will end up paying more.

Both companies have web sites where if you have the size, weight and zip codes you can get a price. This is for door to door shipping. If you could get the seller to deliver it to any major airport  in their area then you could arrange the shipping to any major airport in the us and shipping costs would be about half. But you would have to pick it up. I have not found a seller that would do this as yet.

All of the parts I have bought from Eroupe have been sent FedEx. I hope this helps.
