I start to think that the very last 2nd series Super had a 3rd series interior. Beside the white one which was for sale in Holland is this the second(again white one) I see this way(look at the door panels) Maybe they finished the blue trim earlier??

Interesting idea Albert but not one I've seen any evidence of.

The S2 Super came in both a velour and "tweed" finish. I never understood why one was selected over the other at manufacturing stage...nor I can I recall it listed as an option. As a matter of interest, leather was an option.

The only colour in the tweed that I've seen was white (light grey?) with a darker colour thread running through it. I think it was more hard wearing than the velour. It's difficult to say for certainty from these pictures what the material is but to me it's likely to be the S2 tweed rather than the S3 velour.  Smiley

The seat coverings look like they fit well....if being a little garish. Smiley

Kevin,

I think we mean the same. In my silver Volumetrico were wrong frontseats in another material as the series 3 have normally. The doorpanels are still in with this material, is that what you meant? It looks for me the same as in the white car for sale till a while ago. I didn't know better as all series 2 Supers had velours trim

I have a UK series 2 brochure which features a car that has the 'tweed' trim and not velour.

I know someone who had a Irish 1978 Super with this cloth, he said it was hard wearing but was not as nice as the velour, that he had in his other Super's.

I could live with it Smiley as these two white Super's do look very clean Grin

In Gamma-land (funny how I always seem to mention Gammas on this forum  Grin) people talk of Series 1 and Series 2 cars even though to be precise, officially there was never a Series 2 Gamma but was just a 'facelift'. Whatever it was, early Gammas had a velour interior in very bright colours while late(er) Gammas had a special Zegna designed 'L-Cloth' seat covering in subdued colours. While what are normally referred to as 'Series 2'  Gammas also had fuel injection, different wheels, different external trim, different instruments, different dashboard etc, the L-Cloth interiors were fitted to the last of the 'Series 1' cars making many people refer to them as 'Series 1.5'. Maybe it's the same with the later Series 2 131s and they are in effect 'Series 2.5'?  Grin

This is all news to me.

I always thought all S2 Super's came with Velour. And all the better for it.
