As part of the Fulvia 50th celebrations, the Lancia Motor Club had a Goodwood trackday open to all members on Saturday 25th May. Even though one must be an LMC member, attendance in a Lancia is not compulsory. I decided to go along with my Lancia Beta Berlina alloys and of course the 131 had to go as well as it's attached to them

It was all going very well and I was very much enjoying it until disaster struck

It was my third track session and I was giving a friend a passenger ride to make it even more embarrassing when coming out of a tight corner I put my foot down to accelerate and .... nothing! The accelerator cable snapped and I had to coast to the side of the track and wait to be rescued

As Mark (my passenger) said "we get to see a different view of the track standing on the side". They had to red-flag the session until the recovery truck came to tow us back to the paddock

I managed to do a temporary repair and in fact I was confident enough (of the repair!) to join the queue to get back on the track but unfortunately I run out of time (I only paid for the morning half day).
I couldn't find anyone selling throttle cables without the complete linkage for twin DCOE carbs so I've ordered an inner cable repair and "nipple" for a Lambretta which I'm sure I'll make fit

I'm glad the throttle cable didn't snap while going round the Nurburgring as I believe recovery costs are rather high there!
