As I said to Kev on the text earlier today -

My green S1 is a manual, I live in Farnborough NOT Farnham (they are actually in different Counties), I can easily take pics of my cars and why would I sell my parts car when I potentially have two other far more saleable 131s?

Also Jay, I only sell if I'm desperate - which whilst that might be close, isn't my current status Grin

Added to which I would certainly offer any 131 I might be selling to the users of this forum before I would use eBay. Wink

I got the same tone in my response Jay - Not sure if it was the suggestion that the Ryle residence was in Farnham or the fact that Si would actually sell a 131!!!  Grin Wink

This car has ben stood since 1997, so you can imagine for yourself I'm sure just how much work will be needed to re-commission it  Smiley

Bodily - Whilst it is a whole car, the doors, bonnet and bootlid are shot beyond repair and will need replacing. There is rot in the rear wheel wells (behind the rear seats) and arches and around the fuel filler - so serious body repairs would be needed to bring up to a good standard although it could be used without a full restoration. The base shell appears pretty good - with no rot on the a-pillars or bottom of the b-pillars - but I haven't had the car on the ramp so don't know the full state of the floor. Sills will need partial repair at each end.

Mechanically - I don't know what the mechanicals are like as the car hasn't run for over 15 years. Not sure if the engine will even turn. Undecided Hoses, belts and bushes will probably all need replacing. Also, something the eBay advert doesn't say is that the front brakes have been stripped and then pads have been removed - hence the fact the car rolls so freely!

Interior - All the seats are in reasonable condition although the top of the rear seat back has rotted in the sunlight.  Carpets are good and all trim is present.

Electrics - I'm told by the current owner that he has connected a battery and checked the lights and switches and apparently the only item not working is the wiper motor, but I have no proof of this myself.

Realistically it's a viable resto but not for the faint-hearted.
