Looking for side window rubbers the same as on the early 131  2 door cars where the rear side window would not have opened i wish to seal mine permanently closed..( unlike the racing/sport where the rear side window opens on a latch )..Are there any to be got? .. i have trawled through ebay but none to be found..
Any hiding out there in someone's garage ?

Didn't your donor car come with them Dave? I thought it was just the Sport that had the opening versions...

No Kevin she came with the sport type opening windows.. seems to be a bit of a mix of  series 1 & 2 cars,
series 1 dash , series 2 tail lights, series 2 front grill , series 1 shocks , ....

Could be a tough ask...you don't see many 2 door non Sport survivors. I can see why you would like to keep it as close to the Abarth version as possible though.

Good luck and something might turn up.  Smiley

Hi Dave

If you want a suitable rubber then the standard 'S' rubber for any similar car should do.  Look at something like the MK1 Escort which is a similar shape.

Many of the large windscreen centres can make a rubber from stock material.  The older places that don't just deal in stuff from a bag!

There are various profiles available, and the rubber can be bent around curves, or mitred at the sharp corners to allow you to fit the side windows.

The last time I bought some was to re-fit the cabin windows in a fibreglass boat!  So you might be able to get some from a marina or boatyard.

Check out Ebay item 390496641364  This is the wrong profile as it is for windows into flat panels.  You want S profile I believe.

Good Luck

Hi Dave,

If you find those rubbers then you won't be able to use the sport side windows, because they have a different size. You could make them from plexiglass.

Are these by any chance the ones you are looking for?

http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/guarnizione-posteriore-sinistra-fiat-131-window-Seal-Windschutzscheibe-Dichtung-/290806681600?pt=Ricambi_automobili&hash=item43b56dd000

This is a left side seal and by the looks of it, there's room to fit a glass in it, or not?

Wow,  lads didn't think i would get a responce on this one..
Mirafiori76 these rubbers will take the sport glass if you trim the metal surround on the shell back evenly all round about 3mm or so.. done this to a sport a turned into a replica years ago.. should never have sold it, hence the rebuild of a second replica  Smiley..in case you ever  get the urge to sell your car ''dont'' its a bitch building a second one , Grin

Vode131... please check out what you have and PM me that would be great.. Smiley

Rallydiego.. thanks for the link have emailed the guy to double check the left rubber & to see if the guy can supply a right side rubber as well.. Smiley
