After doing the timming belt on the 1.4? ?a couple of weeks ago , had to strip it all down again to do the water pump ,even less room to get the water heater pipe off the back of the pump than a twiny.
 and of course one off the long bolts snap off ,luckly at the head and not flush with the blok, god it was cold this morning ,ill put all back tommow Cry

You think it was cold today.....

I guess that water pump won't be getting done on Sunday...  Grin

in the good ole days when we had proper snow  Grin
 we only had half a dusting so got with it until my toes froze and then  battle onward till pump was back on and timing belt timed and test started all ok .. then the heavy dizzle started, so gave up, oh the luxury of a garage still none after 22 years working out side , next house a must  Roll Eyes

Yep it was just a dusting this morning, not like 'old snow'.

Your right about the garage Jay, make sure its a double garage otherwise you end up having to push the car outside to work on it anyway  Angry  Cheesy

Sorry to hear that Jay,

Is it just around the end of the pipe where the hose attaches or is it right through the metal?

It could be cleaned off carefully if its only on the outer surface  Undecided

no . about an inch from the water pump right under the exhaust pipe, always had problems with these pipes on my twincams , ussally with the join with the pump

 two small pin holes in the metal pipe ( propbely where i bent it down to get it of the end exhaust stud)
 so small bit of chemical metal over it seamed to have worked ... just got to get around to the clutch
 early next year Roll Eyes

That pipe is 25 years old.....it was probably only meant to last for 5yrs.

get one made up from 316 stainless steel it will last forever.
