Hah! I see where your coming from on the Italian job theme, shame about the Escort eh! The last one was meant to be another 130 Coupe but it looks like its been sold to Sweden so might well be going direct, held the transport up while being decided to the point we have had to just get on with the rest and worry about the other one later. Yes silver 131 is nice, well everyone "comented" on the other ones colour so we thought we would stick to the more normal on this one, nice low kms sliding metal sun roof and blue velour interior  Grin

Nice picture - tough job but someone's got to do it  Smiley

Don't worry about the Mk1 - legend has it that a prototype MK1 was sent to the Ford plant in Boreham, Essex and two engineers joked "that would really move with a (Ford / Lotus) Twin cam in it"  They looked at each other and the rest is history.......

Who would FIAT have had to race againt if it wasn't for the Essex boys with their MK 1 & 2 Escorts?

Hello, are all those yours? Can you post some pictures of the fiat 130 coupe? As far as I remember, the black plastic stripe on the 131 doors was an option for some export markets. This was not an option in Italy.

Hi the Topolino is sold and one we arranged the transport for. The bikes were just transport. The rest are ours. The 131, according to the dating cert is a Jan 1980 produced car built in Italy, i know its been there all its life so not sure about the extra strips being for export markets? The 130 i have attached pics of it in Italy before being loaded. Both of these cars have been in a private collection for 20 odd years, the 130 is showing 66K kms and the 131 72K kms respectively, and are in lovely condition. Both will be going away to have a cam-belt and full service prior to be sold. I will get and post some pics asap. Thanks. G

This stripes were never an option, or they were standard mounted Or it was an accessorie, just like mudflaps you could order it. So you see it more on the still preserved cars owned by elderly first owners........

Hi Albert, thanks for clearing that up. Having looked at the original italian paperwork, you are right it was bought new by a gent 02/01/81 who was born 19/01/1940 so 41 years old a the time. He p/x'd back to the original dealer who kept it till we bought it. It was registered in Vicenza from new and stayed there. So officially one owner  Shocked G

All these pictures are off the car as it arrived, the only thing we have done so far is put it through our local hand car wash to get the dust off her, it has not been polished or even hoovered!!
